The Moon and Astrology: How it affects our daily life… Transiting Moon in Virgo July 2015

The Moon and Astrology

&

HOW IT AFFECTS OUR DAILY LIVES…

In astrology, the moon is connected to our emotions and reactions… how we are feeling on a given day may well be influenced by the sign that is visiting the moon… The moon visits with a sign for up to 2.5 days…. :)

The Moon Void-off-Course:

There are times throughout the month when the moon isn’t fully immersed in any sign… this is when we say the moon is Void off Course… and when this occurs, we may feel “foggy” and “unfocused” … We may not be sure how we are truly feeling about a situation or a person…. Therefore it is not recommended that we make long-term commitments or important decision’s while the moon is Void off Course…. However there are 4 signs in the zodiac which may prove positive during the Void-off-Course moon…

Good for Void-Off-Course Moon:

These v/c signs may prove to be quite productive times.

  • Cancer
  • Taurus
  • Sagittarius
  • Pisces…

Opportunity Periods  (thanks to astrologer Jim Shawvan):

There are other periods throughout the month that are known as opportunity periods, when it can prove to be a positive time for most people, however if you have challenging aspects happening within your own chart you may not be able to make use of opportunity periods.

Thanks to Jim Shawvan present day astrologer, William Lilly 17th century astrologer and Llewellyn’s Daily Planetary Guide for opportunity periods.

Present Moon Sign/Phase/House:

  • Date: July 18 to July 21 2015
  • Moon Sign: Virgo 8:47 pm (ET) 5:47 pm (PT)
  • Moon Phase:1st
  • Void-off-Course: July 21 6:07  (ET) 3:07 am (PT) to 9:23 am (ET) 6:23 (PT). Virgo Moon v/c is not one of the 4 “good signs” Try not to make any important decisions or commitments now. Rest if you are feeling tired or a cold coming on.
  • House(s): 11th & 12th: 11th house of friends, teamwork and humanitarian work. 12th house of fantasy, psychic abilities, institutions.
  • Opportunity Period: July 19 3:43 pm (ET) 12:43 pm (PT) to July 21 6:07  (ET) 3:07 am (PT) to 9:23 am (ET) 6:23 (PT). This can be a very productive time period if we take advantage of it… we might even be pleasantly surprised at the results… :)

What does it all mean?

  • Virgo is all about the details, so be prepared to see to them or at least have someone else see to them for you, you will feel better :)
  • Try not to worry about things you have no control over, especially things that might not ever happen… Because Virgo “see’s” all the details others miss, it’s hard for her not to worry…
  • It’s good to keep busy during a Virgo moon, make lists, tidy, organize, plan, find solutions to problems… a lot can get done now
  • Virgo can be more critical than the rest of the zodiac, but only because she so need things to be “correct” or “perfect”. Try to give yourself and other’s a break over the next couple of days. If you are an employer, be prepared that tasks may not get completed exactly they way you had expected.
  • In the 11th house: It could be a busy time for some. Group, club and team activity is signaled, any one of which may be a stepping stone to better things. Team up, hang out, and do what good you can, have a yard sale and donate some of the proceeds to a community charity…
  • In the 12th house: Use your intuition when it speaks, be careful who you share your secrets with and time spent in solitude with quiet relaxing music may be more appealing than crowds or loud noises right now.
  • In the 1st house: Support is close at hand and will be offered if we remain sensitive where the feelings of others is concerned. However, come on too “strong” and run the risk of alienating the very folk who are ready to assist you.
  • This moon sign will have more of an effect on those who have the following in their charts. And those who have a strong Aquarius or Pisces placement in their charts..
  • Moon in Virgo
  • Sun in Virgo
  • Venus in Virgo
  • Ascendant in Virgo
  • Mid-heaven in Virgo
  • Moon in 1st, 6th, 11th or 12th house
  • Moon in Sagittarius
  • Any aspects to the Moon or Mercury.

  • What does it mean?
  • Venus is the planet of money and beauty, she is the most feminine of the planets and is sometimes referred to as the “Goddess of Love” She rules Libra and Taurus.
  • Virgo is concerned with being of service to others, she can see every little detail and is critical of herself and sometimes of others. Because she can see the details that others miss, she also tends to worry more than the rest too.
  • It’s easier to get along with our co-workers under this influence. Venus is charming and desires a harmonious atmosphere, Virgo wants to get her work done, and she wants to do a good job.
  • Making our work place “pretty” may be on the agenda
  • This may not be the best time to begin a serious romantic relationship, although a flirtatious one may prove to be fun and uplifting… as long as worry/expectations are kept out of the picture.
  • Some folks may take more of an interest in their health, indicating this could be a good time to begin an exercise routine or begin eating a bit healthier… every positive life style change is a good one, no matter how small.
  • Those who work in any type of service industry may come across to their customers/clients as being helpful, soothing and or charming. Indicating this could be a good time for bonus’s, tip’s and little extras…
  • For some folk concern over money matters, especially in area of small business may be on the top of  the worry list. However, it is suggested these guys, take a deep breath and get a workable budget in order before they give up the ghost completely.
  • We can be more service orientated now, and or transfixed on doing what is needed in order to get a “much needed” small business venture off of the ground, especially if it concerns being of service to others.
  • This can be an influence for the good, so watch for opportunity regarding work, service to others, and the medical field.

Conscious Gardening
Co-Creating with Nature

by Madisyn Taylor

To co-create we must first begin with a foundation of mutual respect.
Gardens offer us a perfect opportunity to reconnect to our true selves and remember our place in the natural world. Rather than approach our gardens as mere investments of energy, we can look at the entire process of gardening, from planting seeds to harvesting food, as a way of deepening our conscious relationship with the creative force of the universe. If we are willing to shift our intention from dominating, or at least directing nature, to co-creating with nature instead, we may discover a deep peace and renewed sense of wonder.

To co-create we must first begin with a foundation of mutual respect. As you create your garden in partnership with nature, you can respect the earth, water, insects and animals by using organic seeds, soil and fertilizers. You can also communicate with the plants, insects and elements involved in your garden, and create a regular practice of stillness to listen for any messages they may have for you. When it comes time for harvesting fresh vegetables or picking beautiful blooms, you might even ask permission first. If you ask with an open heart, you will always receive an answer.

Imagine what it would be like to surrender certain aspects of your human world to the precision and surety of the natural environment. You might decide, for example, to forego your calendar and plant in rhythm with the cycles of the moon. Or, you might choose to ignore clock time and water your garden when the sun hits a certain position in the sky. By opening your garden experience to more of nature’s input, you can become available to witness a whole universe of miracles, while engendering a greater sense of honor between the two worlds.

When we recognize ourselves as allies, co-creators, with the earth and the natural world, our relationship to our environment begins to change. We no longer feel the need to control the circumstances around us and can relish in the perfection of all that is.
