The Moon and Astrology: How it affects our daily life: Transiting Moon/Sign Changes: August 12 to New Moon August 23

Hi guys and gals, we are trying something new for o ur site, the idea has been rolling around in my head for a while now, but like so many of my “fabulous” idea’s, they come and then they go away…

However, this idea resurfaced during this NEW MOON phase, and they do say that, the new moon is the perfect time to begin anything new… So let’s give it a shot:

From the New Moon phase to the Full Moon phase, roughly a two week period, and then from the Full Moon phase to the New Moon phase, I will be posting the moon sign’s for that two week period  with links to past post’s, for explainations of the Moon’s position. We may repost this “list” throughout the 2 week period, in between other posts, such as “Inspirational Words” posts.

Aspects:

  • Squares can be challenging, two planets who don’t always get along, friction can develop, a feeling of being challenged by the other… some times we need that challenge to wake us up and get us motivated, great growth is possible, if we are up to the challenge
  • Opposition, challenging like the sqaure, but not all is lost, the planets are at odds with each other, but that doesn’t mean they can’t come to a compromise, although it may take one over the other to back down before anything can move ahead… Take a deep breath, listen to the other view point, and find the middle ground. If that can’t be done, then maybe it’s just not meant to be, aknowledging that will also “set you free”
  • Quincunx are frustrating and may require some adjustments/adjusting, they have nothing in common… We may feel forced, pushed or obligated to perform..  may also relate to health issues. Not a great time, just keep reminding yourself it will all be over soon.
  • Trines are very comfortable aspects, the planets involved are usually of the same element, (Earth, Fire, Water, Air) so they understand each other…trouble happens when comfortable take precedence over doing anything else, this aspect can induce some laziness, great it it’s time for some chilling… if it’s not that time, you may find you have to give yourself a push to get going.
  • Sextiles are planets that are of the same compatible element, (Fire and Air or Earth and Water) they have differences but totally respect each other.. so they are able to work well together.
  • Conjunctions are variable, they can be helpful or not depending on the circumstances and the people involved…

The Full Moon is the best time to get down to business and finish up all the little chores we may have on the go, of course, we can’t attend to them all, but at least we might be able to get some finished up. Aquarius is ahead of the curve in most things, and is quite capable of doing many things, so this could be a good time for something “new” to come to fruition, that may have been sitting in the back corner for the last little while. There may be a slight Pisces “flavor” to this full moon along with the Aquarius influence.

  • Moon Sign: Virgo
  • Moon Quarter: 2nd
  • Void-of-Course: April 10 @ 3:49pm (ET) @ 12:49pm (PT to moon into Libra a later in the evening. 
  • Opportunity Period: None

What does it all mean?

  • Virgo is all about the details, so be prepared to see to them or at least have someone else see to them for you, you will feel better :) 
  • Try not to worry about things you have no control over, especially things that might not ever happen…
  • It’s good to keep busy during a Virgo moon, make lists, tidy, organize, plan, find solutions to problems… a lot can get done now
  • Virgo can be more critical than the rest of the zodiac, but only because she so need things to be “correct” or “perfect”. Try to give yourself and others a break over the next couple of days. If you are an employer, be prepared that tasks may not get completed exactly they way you had expected.

  • April 9th: The Moon makes a square to Jupiter in Gemini later in the evening. She makes a quincunx just before midnight (PT) to the Sun in Aries. The day should go o.k. however, if there are plans for the evening, there may be a few hic-cups along the way. 
  • April 10th: The Moon makes the following aspects: A quincunx to the Sun in Aries, and Chiron in Aries before 10 am. Then she makes an opposition to Venus in Pisces, and a trine to Uranus in Taurus before noon. She makes another opposition, this time to Saturn in Pisces around Noon. By 3pm, the Moon sextiles Mars in Cancer and opposes Mercury in Pisces. The energy today may feel all over the place, however, things should move along fairly smoothly.     There are times throughout the month when the moon isn’t fully immersed in any sign… this is when we say the moon is Void off Course… and when this occurs, we may feel “foggy” and “unfocused” … We may not be sure how we are truly feeling about a situation or a person…. Therefore it is not recommended that we make long-term commitments or important decision’s while the moon is Void off Course…. However there are 4 signs in the zodiac which may prove positive during the Void-off-Course moon… 

    Good for Void-Of-Course Moon: These v/c signs may prove to be quite productive times.

    • Pisces…

    Opportunity Periods  

    There are other periods throughout the month that are known as opportunity periods, when it can prove to be a positive time for most people, however if you have challenging aspects happening within your own chart you may not be able to make use of opportunity periods.

What does it all mean?

  • Gemini is an air sign and needs lots of stimuli. She is ruled by Mercury and is connected to the 3rd house.
  • The 3rd house is the house of: day-to-day travel/affairs and siblings…
  • We could find ourselves busy with multiple things going on, even if they are just in our own minds… 
  • Dealings with family, especially siblings, may occur. Memories are shared and possible solutions to old problems can be found. 
  • We may find we are trying to do multiple things at once, which may not go exactly as we may have planned. If you do find you have tons of ideas spinning around in your head, take pen to paper and jot them down… it will ease the “inside chatter” and you may find some of them useful later on. 
  • Could be lots of chit chatting going on, and some of us may have to make a concerted effort to listen instead of chat.
  • Caution is advised when doing up letters, emails and relaying messages, as much as we may think we have it right, it’s better to check one more time
  • A new study could be on the cards for some of us.. it will likely be approached with enthusiasm. 😊
  • It’s a good time to get those lists and notes made up… we can feel good about putting pen to paper now.
  • Boredom may be at our door step and we may feel more restless than usual.

  • Mercury, who is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo,  is currently in Retrograde motion. He will be a little unsettled and maybe confused during this time, it’s not a time for new beginnings, it’s more a time of reflection and re-doing what needs to get redone…
  • Venus, who rules Libra and Taurus is also in retrograde motion… it’s best to wait until after April the 12th to begin important projects, if you can’t wait, do your due diligence, just to cover all your basis… be prepared for mixed messages. Venus rules over beauty and money.

Capricorn can be work/career orientated, sometimes to the extent of other relationships being “put on hold”… As the Full Moon represents closure or endings, it may be possible to put an end to situations that are no longer fulfilling… such situations may include, career direction, work preferences, or the changing/ending of relationships, especially those connected to work/career.

There are other periods throughout the month that are known as opportunity periods, when it can prove to be a positive time for most people, however if you have challenging aspects happening within your own chart you may not be able to make use of opportunity periods.
