Present Moon Sign/Phase/House:

  • Date: February 9 2017
  • Moon Sign: Leo
  • Moon Phase:2nd
  • Void-off-Course: Late Friday (10) night (PT) Early Saturday morning (11) (ET) to 8:52 am (ET) 5:52 am (PT), mid morning to 11 pm: Leo Moon v/c is not one of the 4 “good signs”
  • House(s): 10th house of responsibility, career, social standing.
  • Opportunity Period: February 9 4:42 am (ET) 1:41 am (PT) to v/c on Friday/Saturday. Mental and Physical energy high.

What does it all mean?

  • The Leo Moon Loves Drama, so be warned…
  • The Leo Moon loves to noticed and recognized, so be prepared to “pump up” your loved ones and if you happened to have a Leo influence in yourself, be aware of how you may be going about getting recognized or appreciated… If you play your cards right this could be a positive time when you get to be where you need to be.
  • Try not to be overly “vain” and be prepared for drama at any-time from any direction
  • Try not to over react and if it’s not you doing the over reacting, try not to get caught up in the drama, or to encourage the over reactor
  • It’s a good time to check out the local talent, take in a down town show, get starry-eyed with your lover, or perhaps look for a new one, as romance is high on the priority ladder during this time.
  • Might prove positive for hair cuts, make overs.
  • In the 10th house: For some of us focus will be on our jobs and career’s, and this may be a positive time for folk who are looking for work, so stay open to possibilities and watch for opportunities. Behave while in social/business situations. Those who have families may need to keep their work at work, when it comes to family time.
  • This moon period will affect everyone, but more so those who have the following in their charts:
    • Moon in Leo:
    • Sun in Leo:
    • Moon in Aquarius
    • Sun in Aquarius
    • Moon in the 10th house
    • Moon in the 5th house
    • Aspects to the moon, Sun or Saturn
  •  Those who have a strong Capricorn or Aquarius placement in their charts may also feel this moon’s influence more than others.

Full Moon is February 10 2017 it is also a Lunar Eclipse on the Leo/Aquarius axis.

All of the above influences will be stronger during a full moon, the added influence of the Lunar Eclipse may cause a bit of stir within relationships. Folks may find themselves driven to making changes in their lives,  because “all of a sudden” they realize just what it is that is missing in their lives… and they want to go and get it…

Romantic declarations may be afoot for some while distressing separation or relationship endings may be in the air for others.

Traditionally the full moon relates to endings, the finishing up of things. Jobs and Career changes are possible. For those who find they are without a job all of a sudden, try and look on the bright side, as this may be just the push needed for you to look for a job/career direction that is closer to your heart.

The effects of a Full Moon/ Lunar Eclipse may last up to 6 months, especially for people who also have a birthday on this day… take care in what you wish for and in the actions that you take. Those with Leo and Aquarius in their charts will feel the effects of this Full Moon the most.

The Moon and Astrology

How it affects our daily lives…

In astrology, the moon is connected to our emotions and reactions… how we are feeling on a given day may well be influenced by the sign that is visiting the moon… Each sign stays with the moon for up to 2.5 days…. :)

The Moon Void-of-Course:

There are times throughout the month when the moon is not fully immersed in any sign… this is when we say the moon is Void of Course… and when this occurs, we may feel “foggy” and “unfocused” … We may not be sure how we are truly feeling about a situation or a person…. Therefore it is not recommended that we make long-term commitments or important decision’s while the moon is Void of Course…. However there are 4 signs in the zodiac which may prove positive during the Void-of-Course moon…

Good for Void-Of-Course Moon:

These v/c signs may prove to be quite productive times.

  • Cancer
  • Taurus
  • Sagittarius
  • Pisces…

Opportunity Periods  (thanks to astrologer Jim Shawvan):

There are other periods throughout the month that are known as opportunity periods, when it can prove to be a positive time for most people, however if you have challenging aspects happening within your own chart you may not be able to make use of opportunity periods.

Transiting Moon in Gemini January 2017

Present Moon Sign/Phase/House:

Zodiac sign Gemini on a background of the starry sky with the scheme of stars in the constellation, vector illustration Stock Vector - 37150664
http://www.123rf.com: Copyright : Nataliia Vzhyshnevska
  • Date: January 8 2017
  • Moon Sign: Gemini:
  • Moon Phase: 2nd
  • Void-of-Course: January 10
  • House(s) 8th & 9th house of, death, tax’s, insurance issues, shared money matters: higher learning and travel, new experiences, publishing, advertising politics, religion and philosophy.
  • Opportunity Period: January 10 early morning to late afternoon. Good for business dealings.

What does it all mean?

  • Gemini is an air sign and needs lots of stimuli. She is ruled by Mercury. Mercury turns direct on January 8th but will still be in his “storm” until January 14…. remain vigilant until then, as plans can still go in the opposite direction you were intending.
  • The house connected to Gemini is the 3rd house of: day-to-day travel/affairs and siblings… we could find ourselves busy with multiple things going on, even if they are just in our own minds… ;) Dealings with family, especially siblings, are likely. Memories are shared and possible solutions to old problems can be found. However, wait until after the Mercury Retrograde before putting any new ideas or plans into motion.
  • We may find we are trying to do multiple things at once, which may not go exactly as we may have planned. If you do find you have tons of ideas spinning around in your head, take pen to paper and jot them down… it will ease the “inside chatter” and you may find some of them useful later on.
  • Could be lots of chit chatting going on, and some of us may have to make a concerted effort to listen instead of chat.
  • Caution is advised when doing up letters, emails and relaying messages, as much as we may think we have it right, it’s better to check one more time
  • In the 8th house: It could mean a trip to the lawyer, Insurance agent or bank manager for some folks… it’s also a good time to review our money situation, especially after the holiday season… talk things over with your other half and get a budget in the works… with a Gemini moon there shouldn’t be any worries about coming up with logical solutions.
  • In the 9th house: A Busy time for some folks, plans could be in the making for travel
  • A new study could be on the cards for some of us.. and it will likely be approached with enthusiasm.
  • If it’s possible to go on vacation now, grab the chance, you might learn more than you could have ever imagined… :)
  • It’s a good time to get those lists and notes made up… we can feel good about putting pen to paper now.
  • Boredom may be at our door step and we may feel more restless than usual.
  • This moon sign will have more of an effect on those who have the following in their charts.
        • Sun in Gemini
        • Sun in Virgo
        • Moon in Gemini
        • Moon in the 3rd house
        • Moon in Sagittarius
        • Moon in the 9th house
        • Any aspects to the Moon, Mercury or Jupiter

What does it all mean?

  • The moon is happy in the sign of Cancer because she rules here. Being sympathetic towards the worries of others is easier, we are more empathetic now.
  • We can be more nurturing when there is a cancer moon
  • Domestic chores and responsibilities may be easier to do now, in fact some of us may be very happy making our home comfortable and safe
  • Cooking may be fun to do now,  so go ahead and try out that new recipe
  • The more emotionally sensitive of us, may take offense or feel slighted or more vulnerable during the Cancer moon… Caution is advised though, check your facts before you “accuse”.

  • It’s a time for cuddles, caring, good food and just plain old lovings… :) Enjoy..

  • Retrograde: Mercury turns retrograde on April 28

What does it Mean?

  • Mercury is the planet of communications and technology, he is what makes us think. He is also in “charge” of transportation
  • Mercury rules Virgo and Gemini
  • Taurus has to have both emotional and material security to be content
  • Taurus is ruled by Venus, the planet of beauty and money.
  • Taurus is much slower to act than Aries is… she needs to be sure it’s the best decision, and she takes a bit longer to fully understand what is all involved.
  • We could be slower on the uptake, and some of us could feel slightly frustrated at the pace…
  • Patience is in the cards for others, it will be easier for you to take your time and mull over your options… for the rest of us, we could be “chomping at the bit” to get going
  • We prefer to stick to what we know now, new ideas or projects or ways of doing things are more challenging to connect with
  • Slow and steady is the way to go now
  • Our thinking will be more on the practical side, tackling abstract issues may not go as well as anticipated.
  • Some folks may be tempted to view the world through “blinkers” making it awkward for those around them…
  • Those who have a tendency to be stubborn may be more so… hopefully their loved ones will be understanding and convince them with love and hugs to change their mind if the subject needs to be resolved now.
  • Money issues could be on the agenda and if they are we are encouraged to take our time with them.
  • We are more aware of our comfort needs now… so indulge… :)

Mercury Retrograde: Enters Storm April 21, Goes Retrograde April 28 until May 22: In Storm until June 1 2016;

Try and Avoid the following:

  • When Mercury is Retrograde or in its storm, it’s not the best time to begin any new projects. Work on the ones that are already in progress.
  • Because Mercury rules communications, technology and transportation, entering into any new legal contracts or signing important papers may not go as planned.
  • Predictions or expectations for or about such issues, (buying a house, signing a lease, a new job, a new study) will not go as planned.
  • If you have to proceed with important situations, be aware that changes are likely.
  • Make sure you find out all you can about everything, and make as many notes as possible.

Try to follow the recommendations below:

  • When Mercury is retrograde it’s  the perfect time to re-do and re-visit past issues…
  • Write down your ideas and the time they occurred.
  • If it comes back on the market put another offer on that house you “lost” after your previous offer:
  • Redecorate your home or office, check out your policies…
  • Bring up unresolved relationship issues and re investigate possible solutions.
  • Mercury retrograde gives us a second chance… :)
  • Mercury in storm isn’t as strong as Mercury Retrograde, but it can still have a disappointing or challenging effect.

Astrology and how it affects our daily life: Transiting Saturn goes Retrograde March 2016

illustration of a boy on a planet saturn ring Stock Vector - 15249970
http://www.123rf.com: Copyright : iimages
  • Astrological Event: Transiting Saturn turns Retrograde
  • Date: March 25 2016 to August 13 2016
  • Time: 6:01 am (ET) 3:01 am (PT)

What does this mean?

Saturn is the planet of restriction, rules and regulations. He rules Capricorn. This is the planet that puts up the boundary’s and who directs us to do the “right thing”. He has a bearing on our public image and how we conduct ourselves in our work/career’s and vocation, he is discipline and responsibility.

When a planet goes retrograde, it appears from the earth’s perspective to be going backwards. Before the planet goes retrograde there is also a period of “slow motion” and stationary movement… and again when the planet begins to turn direct as it builds up speed to once again be in alignment with the earth.

Some folk believe retrograde, slow and stationary movements of the planets can have an impact on our charts and on our daily lives… and others don’t give these movements much thought.  :) The SGC team figure it doesn’t hurt to include them… :)

Saturn Retrograde:

  • Not the best time for financial dealings, which may extend to property purchase’s too.
  • Good for assessing the past, checking old lease agreements or business plans.
  • New commitments and the beginnings of brand new projects should be put aside until Saturn goes direct again, however, if this is not possible, take extra care about what you commit to and be sure the excitement of the new project isn’t making you “blind” to all that is involved now, and in the future.
  • Spend some time making improvements to the things you already know how to do… and while starting to learn something new isn’t recommended learning something connected to what you already know, will help with self-improvement. And Saturn, retrograde or not, should be happy with that… :)
  • Get those drawers and cupboards sorted out and maybe the trunk of the car too… spend some time in the garage and finally get rid of the stuff that has been sitting there for years… sort through the stuff from the past, organize it and keep only what you need.
  • While Saturn is usually a stickler for discipline and behaving correctly, he may be a little more lax in that area now, making this the perfect opportunity to back out of previous commitments without causing too much of a stink.
  • It could be easier for some of us to say no during this time, so don’t hesitate, if it doesn’t feel right, or you just don’t want to do it, try saying no.. :)
  • Not a good time to start a new business
  • Get the past and present sorted out now, and when Saturn goes direct again you will have a clean slate to fill and your ability to be disciplined will be much easier.
