The Moon and Astrology: How it affects our daily life: Transiting Moon/Sign Changes: April 19 to May 16 2026 Full Moon & New Moon Dates.

 

From the New Moon phase to the Full Moon phase, roughly a two week period, and then from the Full Moon phase to the New Moon phase, I will be posting the moon sign’s for that two week period  with links to past post’s, for explanations of the Moon’s position. She is sensual, patient and concerned about personal security, comfort and finances. Much of the time her sense of security is linked to her finances, and assets, such as owning her own home. She can be stubborn, and there isn’t much hope of shifting her once her mind is made up. While she has tons of patience, she has a limit, it is best not to take her for granted for too long.   • 1) May 5th: Cinco De Mayo: Celebrating a battle in the 1800’s between the French and Mexico. 
  • 2) May 6th: Pluto (Planet of death, destruction and regeneration) moves into retrograde motion. He will remain in retrograde motion until mid October. Pluto is an outer planet, so his influence is less intrusive, but it’s still there. He is in charge of change and what has to happen, he is connected to addictions, power and control. When he goes retrograde, he is giving us a chance to make some changes in our life for the better of our future.. A time to let go of some people, and situations that are only causing us heart ache, at the very least, they are holding us back from our best potential. Aspects and how they affect our daily lives:

  • Conjunctions: Variable, they can present either positive or challenging events/situations and people depending on the signs and planets involved
  • Quincunx: Challenging, they can create frustrations regarding dealings with people, events or situations… the “actors” involved do not share any similarities. 
  • Opposition: Challenging, as the “actors” are at odds with each other, but with a little work and patience compromises can be made
  • Squares: Challenging, due to friction between the “actors” involved, however, friction can bring about needed change… while frustrating these little guys, can help us to grow. 
  • Sextile: Positive, the “actors” involved are happy to be together and more then happy to work together, good things are possible
  • Trine: Positive, good for chilling out, and relaxing, these guys are also happy to be together, but neither one may have the motivation to do anything, so it’s possible that nothing constructive will get done with these guys in play. 
  • All planetary movement, will affect those who have such active players (planets/signs) in their birth charts, the rest of us may feel the affects too, but to a lessor extent. However, those with opposite sign placements may also be affected by such movements, to lessor extent, but perhaps more then those who have no such personal chart placements.

  • Quincunx: Challenging, they can create frustrations regarding dealings with people, events or situations… the “actors” involved do not share any similarities. 
  • Opposition: Challenging, as the “actors” are at odds with each other, but with a little work and patience compromises can be made
  • Squares: Challenging, due to friction between the “actors” involved, however, friction can bring about needed change… while frustrating these little guys, can help us to grow. 
  • Sextile: Positive, the “actors” involved are happy to be together and more then happy to work together, good things are possible
  • Trine: Positive, good for chilling out, and relaxing, these guys are also happy to be together, but neither one may have the motivation to do anything, so it’s possible that nothing constructive will get done with these guys in play. 
  • All planetary movement, will affect those who have such active players (planets/signs) in their birth charts, the rest of us may feel the affects too, but to a lessor extent.   • Opposition, another challenging aspect, where frustration levels may hit the roof, and it might not be easy to move ahead with projects or relationships, unless a compromise is reached, it’s not impossible but is it going to be worth it in the end.. that’s what needs to be figured out…
  • Quincunx can be a rather exasperating aspect, it’s a “smaller” aspect which is a good thing, as the signs involved are not compatible at all, the little “quin” can cause health issues too, however, a little rest, a getaway, meditation, deep breathing and if needed a complete “revamp” of the situation can be helpful in dealing with the challenges.
  • Trines and Sextile’s are “happy” aspects, most of the time things run fairly smoothly when they pop in, and can sometimes bring us good luck, the only down side to these guys is that they can make us lazy…

There are times throughout the month when the moon isn’t fully immersed in any sign… this is when we say the moon is Void of Course… and when this occurs, we may feel “foggy” and “unfocused” … We may not be sure how we are truly feeling about a situation or a person…. Therefore it is not recommended that we make long-term commitments or important decision’s while the moon is Void of Course…. However there are 4 signs in the zodiac which may prove positive during the Void-of-Course moon…

  • Taurus
  • Sagittarius
  • Pisces…

Opportunity Periods
There are other periods throughout the month that are known as opportunity periods, when it can prove to be a positive time for most people, however if you have challenging aspects happening within your own chart you may not be able to make use of opportunity periods.

  • Aquarius is “different”,  ahead of his time and capable of thinking & “seeing” things in a different way then the rest of us. 
  • Aquarius is ruled by Uranus, the planet of  shock and chaos. 
  • We may feel may inclined towards kindness, especially on a “global” level or towards animals, the elderly and those worse off. 
  • The time may be right to learn about some new technology. Even if it’s been around for a while, if you haven’t tried it, then it’s new to you. :) 
  • This moon period can bring out the rebel in us, prompting us to try new things and or meet new people. Just take care not to “rebel” for the sake of it… ;) 
  • Be careful not to break tradition just because one feels like being different as some may see it as one being “difficult”
  • Personal freedom and individuality is very important now. Partner’s try not to restrict each other’s movements. Parent’s it might be a tight line you walk now. Employer’s give your “worker’s” a little “slack”. 
  • Being organized might not be as easy now, so expect weird schedule’s and interrupted meetings and misplaced keys.
  • Changes may be in the air…if you are o.k. with change, it’s possible to make long-term plan changes now..
  • Could be a good time for inventions, putting pen to paper is more appropriate at this time,  instead of going full steam ahead with concrete plans.

    • Capricorn is business, duty and discipline. She is ruled by Saturn, the planet of restrictions. 
    • We may be more in tune with our work/career or vocational direction.
    • Change may be more challenging to deal with, and we may be resistant towards it… 
    • Being disciplined towards our “duties/chores” may be easier to achieve. 
    • Dealings with the elderly may be in focus. 
    • Dealings with “authority” types, such as teachers, principles, supervisor’s may be in focus. Being respectful of such positions may help to alleviate tension.
