Happy New Year…. Let us Welcome the new decade 2020 and take stock of our behaviour on our planet… :)

Thank you so much for following us in 2019 and for all the years, we truly appreciate it and it gives us that little push to keep on going… ;)

As we look towards a new year and a new decade, it’s a good time to ask ourselves, are we helping our planet or harming it… ? Our lives, are a mixture of nature, people, material and sometimes spiritual… What we do each day while living our lives, affects the “whole”….

2019 saw a huge movement towards awareness, the awareness that our human “needs” has created a planetary crisis. For some, this was not new news, we have been aware for over 30 years of the damage our human exsistance was doing to our world. And now the crisis has come to a head…

We thank all those who fight this fight, for those who stand up and speak out, even while they are verbally abused and bullied… We thank all those who try their best to reduce their “footprint”, it isn’t easy, it’s time consuming, it’s thinking before acting, it’s giving up material things, it’s walking more and driving less… most of all, it’s frustrating and upsetting to look around and feel as though no-one really cares, and there aren’t enough of us to make the difference that is needed to stop the destruction…

It is even more important now that we do not give up, “never give up, never surrender” :) Folks are getting “it”, they are open to making changes, governments (well some of them anyway) are understanding the crisis, they are declaring it REAL…. because they cannot declare it anything else… Hang in there ladies and gentlemen, keep doing what you can, listen and learn as you go, and when you get those days, where you want to give up and say to heck with it all… keep in mind that we aren’t fighing for those who can speak up for themselves, for are “fighting” for those who cannot… wildlife, birds, bees, fish, oceans, trees and plants…. :)

Have a super fabulous New Years

Greta McKenzie, SGC Admin and the SGC Team

SGC Admin… Hello and thank you … :)

Hi Everyone… 🙋‍♀️😎

We have been on our annual winter get away since the end of January and will be heading back home the beginning of March… Hubby likes to go south at this time of the year for a few reasons… He absolutely hates the winter, not so much because of the snow, cold and blowing wind, but also because of the salt that covers our roads, which then gets on our cars, ruins our sidewalks and roadways and of course our environment and water ways… :(

He also likes to “drag” me away to celebrate a couple of anniversaries for us… We met in the month of February (38 years ago now) and we got married in January 5 years later… we didn’t have a traditional wedding, we “eloped” so to speak, so I never had the frills that go along with a wedding, (no dress, no flowers etc)… we couldn’t afford it and for years after wards I regretted it so much… not any more (I have got over it) :) but Hubby still feels bad and so likes to add that into the reasons why we need to be somewhere warm and sunny… hahaha… (men, the boy in them never leaves… ) ;) …

However, while we are away, working on SGC is a bit more challenging, and so I take this opportunity to apologize for my late postings… :( I also would like to say a big THANK YOU to you all for your continued support in following us and a warm welcome to all of you who are our new followers… We appreciate you all and hope you will continue along with our journey… Don’t forget to contact us with your questions and comments… :) we love to hear from you … and if time permits check out our other site, (you can find the link on SGC to the right of the page) where you can find items to purchase… :)

Thanks again everyone… and we wish you all a truly fabulous day… :)

SGC Admin: Happy Mothers Day… May 2018

SGC Admin: It’s that time of year again folks… when we show our mom’s just how much they mean to us… Sadly the SGC crew no longer have a mom to celebrate with … but we do get to celebrate as mom’s :)

So take time out to phone, email, text or see Mom…. take her out to dinner, or make dinner for her… go shopping, get a pedicure, go to the movies… do some gardening…what ever it is that makes your Mom smile… :)

Have a wonderful

SGC Admin checking in and saying hi… :) and a few extra words on Saturn Retrograde for 2018

SGC Admin: Hi Everyone… we would just like to say a big thank you to all of our new follower’s… we know that there are many, many websites out there dealing in such topics as we do, and we are humbled and grateful that you have chosen SGC… Welcome to the “SGC Family” :) We encourage you to comment on our posts, start a conversation with other followers, and or send us your questions… :)

And Just in case any of you folks out there are having a bit of a challenging time with Saturn Retrograde this time around we hope the following can assist you … :)

Saturn Retrograde.… Feelings of sadness and tiredness are abundant at the moment… the energy feels heavy, forcing us to “plod along” rather than glide along..

Saturn is the planet of restriction, he is authority and “parent like” in the way he expects us to do what is “proper”…  Saturn is reminding us that in life, some things need to be attended to, even if one doesn’t feel like doing them…  We need to be responsable right now, its not play time, it’s work time… work on oneself, work on on going projects, work at work, work on looking for work, work on the domestic and family fronts etc…. And as daunting as this may seem, it’s not really all bad if we can look at this time as a sort of “time out”, as if our Parent(s) are guiding us towards steadiness in our lives… Once we are aware of this, we can organize our time in such way, so that we can indeed bring some fun and sun into our daily chores and routines, all we need do is set aside the time that is needed to do some work on what needs working on now.

As with any retrograde planet, the time is not for beginning new things, but rather it is a time when we may look at what we are accomplishing, where we are heading and how we are getting there… It’s a time to review our actions and thought patterns… and because Saturn is connected to our responsibilities, it is also a good time review our work and career directions… Are we doing the best we can? Are we happy in our work? Are we in the “right job”? Is our work going to bring us closer to our ultimate goals? Are we getting payed what we are worth?… All these thoughts may flit through our minds during this time, yet there is no rush to make changes or big decisions, because we have until the beginning of September before we have to take any action.

Our relationships may also be reviewed during this time… and while Saturn isn’t as interested in relationships as Venus may be, he does understand the importance of them, he respects them and the traditions they may represent. If someone isn’t being as respectful as one may like, or if one finds they aren’t being as respectful as they should be towards another person, this may be a good time to review said relationship.

We wish you a happy and productive Saturn retrograde time… the SGC team…

Seeing Ourselves
BY MADISYN TAYLOR
Many of us do not take the time to notice and acknowledge how beautiful we are as humans. Many of us do not take the time to notice and acknowledge how beautiful we are as humans. We may be great lovers of beauty, seeing it in the people, places, and things around us, while completely missing it in ourselves. Some of us feel that it is vain to consider our appearance too much, or we may find that when we look at ourselves, all we see are imperfections. Often we come to the mirror with expectations and preconceived notions about beauty that blind us from seeing ourselves clearly. As a result, we miss the beauty that is closest to us, the beauty we are. Sometimes we see our beauty in a shallow way, noticing how well we are conforming to social norms, but failing to see the deeper beauty that shines out from within and that will continue to shine regardless of how we measure up to society’s ideal.
If we can cut through all these obstacles and simply appreciate how beautiful we are, we free up so much energy. We also become less dependent upon the opinions and feedback of others since we become our own greatest admirers. Many of us know that after a great yoga practice or a long, deep meditation, we are more able to see how beautiful we are. This is because we have released some of our baggage, thus unburdening ourselves and summoning forth the spirit that dwells within us. It is the heady combination of the divine spirit and the human body that conveys beauty more accurately than anything else.To keep ourselves in touch with our own beauty, we can surround ourselves with images that reflect our beauty back to us–photos of a relative or child who has our eyes, images of teachers who embody spirit, or self-portraits that capture our essence in a way that allows us to see ourselves anew. The best way to keep ourselves in touch with our own beauty is to keep looking deeply into our own souls and opening our eyes to the human being we see in the mirror every day.
