The Moon and Astrology: How it affects our daily life: Transiting Moon/Sign Changes: August 12 to New Moon August 23

Hi guys and gals, we are trying something new for o ur site, the idea has been rolling around in my head for a while now, but like so many of my “fabulous” idea’s, they come and then they go away…

However, this idea resurfaced during this NEW MOON phase, and they do say that, the new moon is the perfect time to begin anything new… So let’s give it a shot:

From the New Moon phase to the Full Moon phase, roughly a two week period, and then from the Full Moon phase to the New Moon phase, I will be posting the moon sign’s for that two week period  with links to past post’s, for explainations of the Moon’s position. We may repost this “list” throughout the 2 week period, in between other posts, such as “Inspirational Words” posts.

Aspects:

  • Squares can be challenging, two planets who don’t always get along, friction can develop, a feeling of being challenged by the other… some times we need that challenge to wake us up and get us motivated, great growth is possible, if we are up to the challenge
  • Opposition, challenging like the sqaure, but not all is lost, the planets are at odds with each other, but that doesn’t mean they can’t come to a compromise, although it may take one over the other to back down before anything can move ahead… Take a deep breath, listen to the other view point, and find the middle ground. If that can’t be done, then maybe it’s just not meant to be, aknowledging that will also “set you free”
  • Quincunx are frustrating and may require some adjustments/adjusting, they have nothing in common… We may feel forced, pushed or obligated to perform..  may also relate to health issues. Not a great time, just keep reminding yourself it will all be over soon.
  • Trines are very comfortable aspects, the planets involved are usually of the same element, (Earth, Fire, Water, Air) so they understand each other…trouble happens when comfortable take precedence over doing anything else, this aspect can induce some laziness, great it it’s time for some chilling… if it’s not that time, you may find you have to give yourself a push to get going.
  • Sextiles are planets that are of the same compatible element, (Fire and Air or Earth and Water) they have differences but totally respect each other.. so they are able to work well together.
  • Conjunctions are variable, they can be helpful or not depending on the circumstances and the people involved…

The Full Moon is the best time to get down to business and finish up all the little chores we may have on the go, of course, we can’t attend to them all, but at least we might be able to get some finished up. Aquarius is ahead of the curve in most things, and is quite capable of doing many things, so this could be a good time for something “new” to come to fruition, that may have been sitting in the back corner for the last little while. There may be a slight Pisces “flavor” to this full moon along with the Aquarius influence.

The Moon Void-of-Course: 

There are times throughout the month when the moon is not fully immersed in any sign… this is when we say the moon is Void of Course… and when this occurs, we may feel “foggy” and “unfocused” … We may not be sure how we are truly feeling about a situation or a person…. Therefore it is not recommended that we make long-term commitments or important decision’s while the moon is Void of Course…. However there are 4 signs in the zodiac which may prove positive during the Void-of-Course moon… 

Good for Void-Of-Course Moon:

These v/c signs may prove to be quite productive times.

  • Taurus
  • Sagittarius
  • Pisces…

There are other periods throughout the month that are known as opportunity periods, when it can prove to be a positive time for most people, however if you have challenging aspects happening within your own chart you may not be able to make use of opportunity periods.

  • Moon Phase: 2nd moves into the 3rd on the 15th
  • Void-of-Course: March 16 @5:53am (ET) @2:53am (PT) to moon into Scorpio on March 17.  Moon v/c in Libra is not one of the 4 void off course “good signs” Relationship issues may not go as planned, leave the planning until after the V.O.C moon… 
  • Opportunity Period: None

 What does it all mean?

  • Libra has a need for balance, indicating this moon period may be an ideal time to implement some into our daily lives. 
  • A desire for justice may be present, dealing with issues that have upset our sense of justice may prove to be productive. 
  • Diplomacy is likely to be more apparent during the next few days, and may be a good time to bring up that topic you have been putting on the back burner. 
  • Hesitation is probably going to raise its head, we may see many sides of a story and find it difficult to make up our minds. 
  • Difficulty in making commitments or long-term decisions, because we can’t make up our minds. If this is the case perhaps wait a few days until the moon has moved out of Libra. 
  • Co-operation should be in the air, making this an ideal time to make plans with others. 
  • For some, new relationships could be on the agenda.
  • May be a good time to improve our appearance and surroundings.

Notes on Full Moon, Lunar Eclipse in Virgo:

Full Moon in 23 degrees Virgo occurs on Thursday, March 14 @ 11:55pm (PT) March 14 @ 2:55 am (ET). The full moon is a good time to finish up projects, and to end anything that is no longer helping us along our life journey… Sometimes this may mean relationships come to an end or change… such as friends moving away, leaving a job or finishing school. We can utilize the full moon to symbolically remove things or people from our lives which prove to more challenging than productive. Simply, grab pen and paper and jot down what it is that you would like to change in your life.  find a heat proof container big enough to catch the ashes, (like a big ashtray or bowl) light a candle… read your list, you can read it out loud or to yourself… once read, and digested, light the paper and let it burn, the ash symbolically takes your words and wishes (in the smoke) into the Universe to dispense them as wished. 

NOTE 2: There also a lunar eclipse with this months full moon.  😊 An eclipse can amplify the “power” of the Full Moon.  The moon is connected to our emotional self, the lunar eclipse this month may mean that we feel things on a deeper level, or we may not understand why we are feeling the way that we do, perhaps we are feeling frustrated? Whatever we are feeling should be acknowledged and dealt with if possible, the Full Moon’s energy can assist us, as it’s the perfect time for release, giving up the space that is being occupied by things/people that do not lift us up, and allowing that space to be used for what/who does lift us up. No need to fret, trust in your instincts and, with the least amount of pain subjected on others, do what is right for you.

HOW IT AFFECTS OUR DAILY LIVES… 

In astrology, the moon is connected to our emotions and reactions… how we are feeling on a given day may well be influenced by the sign that is visiting the moon… Each sign stays with the moon for up to 2.5 days…. :) 

The Moon Void-of-Course: 

There are times throughout the month when the moon isn’t fully immersed in any sign… this is when we say the moon is Void of Course… and when this occurs, we may feel “foggy” and “unfocused” … We may not be sure how we are truly feeling about a situation or a person…. Therefore it is not recommended that we make long-term commitments or important decision’s while the moon is Void of Course…. However there are 4 signs in the zodiac which may prove positive during the Void-of-Course moon… 

  • Cancer
  • Taurus
  • Sagittarius
  • Pisces…

Opportunity Periods  

There are other periods throughout the month that are known as opportunity periods, when it can prove to be a positive time for most people, however if you have challenging aspects happening within your own chart you may not be able to make use of opportunity periods.
