Astrology and how it affects our daily life: Mercury into Taurus March 2017

Astrological Event:

Mercury Moves into a new Sign

New Sign: Taurus

Date: March 31 2017

What does it all mean?

Mercury is all about the mind… how we think… he is also the messenger and therefore relates to how we communicate… He rules over transportation, technology and innovation… He is the ruler of the signs Virgo and Gemini and is associated with the 3rd and 6th houses.

Taurus is about security, feeling good and enjoying the pleasures of the senses. She is sensual and “demands” comfort and is the happiest when she has savings put away for a rainy day. Money is important because it brings about the lifestyle and comfort needed.  Having a secure roof over one’s head is a must to reduce every day stress.

  • We can be slower at coming up with solutions to our every day issues, but solutions will be found if we give ourselves time enough to find them.
  • It is far better to put our minds to learning one thing well, then it is to trying to learn a little about a lot of things. Taurus doesn’t like being rushed, and she doesn’t learn well if she is.
  • Our finances may be in focus, and we may feel the need to pull out our paper work, to talk to our bank managers or financial advisors. It’s not so much of a worry, but more of a nagging sense of getting such things in order, so we can get the most out of our budget.
  • Shopping might be on the agenda for some, but it may not go as planned, finding that perfect outfit may be a challenge, but as with all things Taurus.. patience  can win out in the end… :)
  • We could find we are struggling a bit between wanting to feel fit and healthy and that pull towards doing just a little too much relaxing, especially those of us still the last grips of winter.. However, we are all encouraged to get  up and move, who knows some of us may be introduced to an exercise regime we can handle.
  • While Taurus loves her comfort foods, it is a good time to try and figure out a healthier diet, don’t go crazy though, as that may be a deterrent, start by cutting down on the “sin foods” a little bit at a time… add more greens and salads…
  • Common Sense rules the day under this influence, indicating it can be a good time to get down to business… clean out the cupboards, get paperwork in order, go to bed at a decent time, stick to routines, and get the chores done…
  • Watch out for being overly stubborn  just for the sake of being stubborn… be aware of your motives and why you might be saying no… don’t miss out on great opportunities just because you are grumpy or feel better in your jammies then having to get dressed and go outside and mingle.
  • For folks with personal fire signs in their charts, this might turn out to be a bit of a bumpy ride as you will have to refrain from being so impatient.. you won’t win against the strong Taurus influence… Give your slower thinking family, co-workers and friends a break for the next few weeks…Mercury goes Retrograde in April and will move back into the Fire sign of Aries

“Talking Out Loud”

Mercury in Aries

Mercury is the planet that rules communication, expression, and our thinking process, and it is shifting gears today as it moves into quick thinking Aries, where it will stay until March 31st. Decisions can be made very quickly in this very fast paced, impulsive energy. Aries teaches all of us no matter your Sun Sign that we can lead and are quick to work on any new ideas or projects we might have. So our thoughts and ideas can be pioneering, as we come up with new things to do and say and we want to be first to know things!

Our way of thinking is quick and spontaneous, and so is the way we talk and communicate. We tend to speak directly in this energy, as we can be more bold and assertive with Mercury in Aries. We don’t have the patience for mulling over ideas, as the decisions we do make now are often driven by our need for instant gratification! We can be more quick, direct, and candid in our conversations, and some folks might think we even sound crude at times. This is a more aggressive kind of energy, especially if you come across other folks who oppose or argue about your opinions or ideas. And you might think they will just accept your opinions at first, but when you realize they don’t you can feel frustrated and angry. We’re more sensitive and defensive under this influence, because we are attached to our ideas. So think before you speak or make that Facebook post! Ha!

Details can become an issue because even though we will pay extra close attention to them if we really need to focus, but we are moving so much more quickly under the Mercury in Aries energy that we refuse to listen to others more often and immediately dismiss what we think is irrelevant. Only to discover later we missed important or prudent information. But our charm and style can get us through.

When we express ourselves we can be much more straightforward, and even if you’re normally shy you might just tell someone exactly what you think during this cycle! Those of you who already express themselves out loud should try to rein it in and be careful to not go all wild and crazy or you can lose friendships or hurt someone you care for.

This is a great time to start something new, because we aren’t attached to worn-out, older, outdated ideas, and generally speaking we adopt a different more fiery, enthusiastic kind of attitude. New projects and ideas are taken head on now with strong enthusiasm. It’s all to easy to have our hands in many different pots, as we start new projects and jump around to each of them before finishing. We can always feel or seem busy under Mercury in Aries. We might be on one path mentally towards a goal to suddenly change our mind or opinions, especially if something sounds more appealing, new, or exciting.

If anyone expresses some sort of criticism or negative feedback we can take it extremely personal now. But we are not afraid of a challenge or fight if the need arrises, especially if it’s a mental showdown. We can be more intelligent but also more idealistic, and if we get excited about something we can promote it strongly, because we are full of energy and are highly motivated now. But overall we are more fun and enthusiastic, which can be highly infectious.

With the Sun currently in Pisces through March 20th, you may wonder why folks seem agitated or frustrated, as we can come off as harsh and impatient. Because decisions are made so quickly, you may not understand why others sort of stay on the fence around your ideas, and don’t work with you as easily. So it’s a good time to keep working on communication and playing fair and try to be patient.

VENUS IS NOW RETROGRADE: A TIME TO REFLECT ON OUR RELATIONSHIPS AND VALUES

Venus went retrograde recently, She rules Libra and TaurusVenus relates to our relationships, money and what we want/need to feel comfortable, happy and balanced… During retrograde motion, she can prompt us to look out all of our relationships/partnerships… sometimes this may mean changes, break ups or new outlooks…

SGC is happy to share the following post from Carman Di Luccio on Venus Retrograde…

  • Astrological Event: Mars moves into Taurus
  • Date:  March 9 2017
  • Time: 7:34 pm (ET) 4:34 pm (PT)

What does it mean?

Mars is the male planet, he is action and can be aggressive, he can be rash and selfish, but also work in heroic ways to help us move forward, speak up for ourselves and others and pushes us to experience new frontiers. He is the ruler of Aries and corresponds to the head, the blood and the muscles.

  • Taurus is ruled by Venus (the opposite of Mars)
  • Taurus is connected to the 2nd house of financial and material security.
  • Time to put the brakes on for a while and slow down. Taurus doesn’t like to be rushed it only upsets her.
  • Frustrations are likely for those who “demand” answers right away or expect results at the drop of a hat
  • It’s a good time to talk about plans, but not always the best time to move ahead
  • Some of us are going to be more stubborn about certain things… and won’t do anyone any good to try and get us to change our minds or our direction… advice is always appreciated though even if we don’t take it.
  • It’ s not a time for quick action or for reaching goals quickly, however it is time to plod along slowly and deliberately, gathering information along the way, so in the end our results will be firm and long-lasting.
  • Because Taurus rules the 2nd house and Aries (ruled by Mars) rules the 1st house, it’s possible that some folks may find this a good time to check out their personal finances and assess their material security (as in where they live and job prospects). We will want to take care of our needs, and while the welfare and comfort of family and friends will also be in our minds, self-care will be at the top on the list.
  • Venus rules Taurus and is the most feminine of the planets, her main interests are money, beauty and an easy way with relationships (Venus turned retrograde March 4)… Taurus needs to feel comfortable and enjoys  fine food and drink…
  • Mars is the most male of the planets, his interests are action, heroism,  his own needs first, and war… He rules Aries…
  • With Mars being in Venus, some of us may experience frustrations regarding our personal relationships, especially if one partner wants to move quicker within the relationship then the other… Breakups may happen under this influence and while new relationships can happen now they will work out better if expectations are kept to a minimum.
  • Take care regarding big purchases
  • We may be more frugal with our spending under this influence
  • Some folks may feel confused about their finances, spending now and wondering why the heck we bought something or spent so much one this influence has passed.

The Moon & Astrology; how it affects our daily life: Transiting Moon In Leo February 2017: Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse

Present Moon Sign/Phase/House:

vector Illustration of leo zodiac sign Stock Vector - 37195743

  • Date: February 9 2017
  • Moon Sign: Leo
  • Moon Phase:2nd
  • Void-off-Course: Late Friday (10) night (PT) Early Saturday morning (11) (ET) to 8:52 am (ET) 5:52 am (PT), mid morning to 11 pm: Leo Moon v/c is not one of the 4 “good signs”
  • House(s): 10th house of responsibility, career, social standing.
  • Opportunity Period: February 9 4:42 am (ET) 1:41 am (PT) to v/c on Friday/Saturday. Mental and Physical energy high.

What does it all mean?

  • The Leo Moon Loves Drama, so be warned…
  • The Leo Moon loves to noticed and recognized, so be prepared to “pump up” your loved ones and if you happened to have a Leo influence in yourself, be aware of how you may be going about getting recognized or appreciated… If you play your cards right this could be a positive time when you get to be where you need to be.
  • Try not to be overly “vain” and be prepared for drama at any-time from any direction
  • Try not to over react and if it’s not you doing the over reacting, try not to get caught up in the drama, or to encourage the over reactor
  • It’s a good time to check out the local talent, take in a down town show, get starry-eyed with your lover, or perhaps look for a new one, as romance is high on the priority ladder during this time.
  • Might prove positive for hair cuts, make overs.
  • In the 10th house: For some of us focus will be on our jobs and career’s, and this may be a positive time for folk who are looking for work, so stay open to possibilities and watch for opportunities. Behave while in social/business situations. Those who have families may need to keep their work at work, when it comes to family time.
  • This moon period will affect everyone, but more so those who have the following in their charts:
    • Moon in Leo:
    • Sun in Leo:
    • Moon in Aquarius
    • Sun in Aquarius
    • Moon in the 10th house
    • Moon in the 5th house
    • Aspects to the moon, Sun or Saturn
  •  Those who have a strong Capricorn or Aquarius placement in their charts may also feel this moon’s influence more than others.

Full Moon is February 10 2017 it is also a Lunar Eclipse on the Leo/Aquarius axis.

All of the above influences will be stronger during a full moon, the added influence of the Lunar Eclipse may cause a bit of stir within relationships. Folks may find themselves driven to making changes in their lives,  because “all of a sudden” they realize just what it is that is missing in their lives… and they want to go and get it…

Romantic declarations may be afoot for some while distressing separation or relationship endings may be in the air for others.

Traditionally the full moon relates to endings, the finishing up of things. Jobs and Career changes are possible. For those who find they are without a job all of a sudden, try and look on the bright side, as this may be just the push needed for you to look for a job/career direction that is closer to your heart.

The effects of a Full Moon/ Lunar Eclipse may last up to 6 months, especially for people who also have a birthday on this day… take care in what you wish for and in the actions that you take. Those with Leo and Aquarius in their charts will feel the effects of this Full Moon the most.

The Moon and Astrology

How it affects our daily lives…

In astrology, the moon is connected to our emotions and reactions… how we are feeling on a given day may well be influenced by the sign that is visiting the moon… Each sign stays with the moon for up to 2.5 days…. :)

The Moon Void-of-Course:

There are times throughout the month when the moon is not fully immersed in any sign… this is when we say the moon is Void of Course… and when this occurs, we may feel “foggy” and “unfocused” … We may not be sure how we are truly feeling about a situation or a person…. Therefore it is not recommended that we make long-term commitments or important decision’s while the moon is Void of Course…. However there are 4 signs in the zodiac which may prove positive during the Void-of-Course moon…

Good for Void-Of-Course Moon:

These v/c signs may prove to be quite productive times.

  • Cancer
  • Taurus
  • Sagittarius
  • Pisces…

Opportunity Periods  (thanks to astrologer Jim Shawvan):

There are other periods throughout the month that are known as opportunity periods, when it can prove to be a positive time for most people, however if you have challenging aspects happening within your own chart you may not be able to make use of opportunity periods.

Thanks to Jim Shawvan present day astrologer, William Lilly 17th century astrologer and Llewellyn’s Daily Planetary Guide for opportunity periods.
