Notice to Members of a Class Action Against Bell Mobility Inc. Expiry of Prepaid Pay-Per-Use Balances:

SGC Admin: We came across a fairly small notice in our local paper regarding a Class Action Suit against Bell Mobility and decided to share on SGC in case there are folk out there who don’t know about this but who maybe are supposed to… :)

The Notice States: 

The Ontario Superior Court of Justice has allowed a class action lawsuit against Bell Mobility Inc.. to proceed, which seeks compensation on behalf  of all persons in  who were prepaid, pa-per-use wireless phone customers of Bell Mobility, Virgin Mobile Canada and Solo Mobile and had balances remaining in the accounts at the end of an active period which expired between May 2010 and December 6 2013 (the “Class”).

The lawsuit alleges that the defendant breached its contracts with its Ontario customers who used pre-paid wireless services by expiring prepaid balances too early, and/or by imposing expiry dates on prepaid balances contrary to provincial regulations applicable to gift cards. 

The Court has not yet determined whether or not the lawsuit will succeed. Bell Mobility denies that it acted in breach of contract and/or that provincial gift card regulations apply to prepaid wireless services. 

The representative plaintiff is Celia Sankar. Class counsel will be paid legal fees only. If the lawsuit is successful and the legal fees and costs must be approved by the Court. In addition, Ms Sankar has received funding from the Class Proceedings Fund which will receive 10% of any award or settlement in favour of Class members plus any funded disbursements. 

If you do not wish to take part in this lawsuit, you must opt out by filling out an “opt-out” form (available at the website) and sending it care of Class counsel at the following address or email by November 17 2014: 

Whether or not the class action is successful, all Class members who do not opt out will bound by any judgement of the court.

How it affects our daily lives… 

In astrology, the moon is connected to our emotions and reactions… how we are feeling on a given day may well be influenced by the sign that is visiting the moon… Each sign stays with the moon for up to 2.5 days…. :) 

The Moon Void-off-Course: 

There are times throughout the month when the moon isn’t fully immersed in any sign… this is when we say the moon is Void off Course… and when this occurs, we may feel “foggy” and “unfocused” … We may not be sure how we are truly feeling about a situation or a person…. Therefore it is not recommended that we make long-term commitments or important decision’s while the moon is Void off Course…. However there are 4 signs in the zodiac which may prove positive during the Void-off-Course moon… 

Good for Void-Off-Course Moon:

These v/c signs may prove to be quite productive times.

  • Try not to be overly “vain” and be prepared for drama at any-time from any direction
  • Try not to over react and if it’s not you doing the over reacting, try not to get caught up in the drama, or to encourage the over reactor
  • It’s a good time to check out the local talent, take in a down town show, get starry-eyed with your lover, or perhaps look for a new one, as romance is high on the priority ladder during this time. 
  • Watch out for the Void-off-Course Moon on Sunday, :) more of the light-hearted fun stuff and less of the “duty bound seriousness” is recommended. 
  • Might prove positive for hair cuts, make overs.

New Moon August 25 2014 in Virgo

The New Moon is about beginnings and starts … it’s the time to look forward and put new ideas and projects into motion. 

New moon in the 4th quarter. A good time to “draw back” to reflect on past events and what has been (or has not been) accomplished. Time to clear the slate and plan for the New Moon stage. 

New Moon in the 1st quarter: Our lady becomes visible 5.5 to 12 hours after ‘her birth” (the time she becomes new) she is delicate but strong, eager to start anew almost with the innocence of a babe she wants to begin again and explore all that she can. This is the absolute best time to begin your new projects.

Although this month’s new moon falls in the sign of Virgo, there may still be some Leo overtones about… :)

New moon in Virgo: Virgo is all about detail, which can sometimes incite worry where it’s not needed. If you are beginning a new project, or planning for the future, don’t be too hard on yourself it everything doesn’t seem to be perfect… You will see the flaws that need fixing, but don’t go crazy, sometimes mistakes are necessary :)

If you have been wanting to get in shape, or step up your work out routine now is a good time to start, it’s also a good time to begin a diet as our minds wonder to our health and hygiene… Cleaning out that closet or the car may also prove to be fabulous therapy…

New Moon in Leo: Leo loves drama, after all he is ruled by the Sun, without which we could not exist, it’s no wonder those with a Leo influence can sometimes get carried away. :) It’s a good time to start creative projects, and may even prove helpful if auditioning for parts in a play, movie or band. But watch out for the innocence of the new moon combined with the “showiness” and innate pride of the Lion… Remember your p’s and q’s, and that we can’t all be noticed for our talents all of the time… :) have fun, be creative, spend time around animals and children and who knows what one can achieve under this new moon… :) 

Moon in the 11th house: House of teams, groups, friends and causes. May be a good time to sign up with a team/group activity (gym). Watch out you don’t get carried away regarding charity events and causes. If starting a new job or volunteer position be open to new friendships. 

Moon in the 4th House: You may find spending some time alone in retrospect helpful if contemplating  next phase of your life, but don’t stay there too long… :) Focus may be on the home and private life now.

For those who have oppositions or square aspects to the moon, these may prove to be challenging times, if this is the case you are advised not to force issues at this time.  For those who have trines or sextiles, these may prove to be opportune times.

Void off Course Moon

When the moon is void off course we can be unsure as to how we are really feeling about something or someone, it’s therefore advisable to stick to routine tasks at this time. If any legal documents or long-term commitments are in the picture take care to make sure you understand everything that is involved before signing… Delaying important decisions and commitments is highly recommended when the moon is void off course… 

Solar Eclipse

A solar eclipse can have an influence on us making things, plans, issues and or situations that happen during an eclipse last longer than usual. Sometime’s it’s unavoidable and plans have to be made, ideas need to be put into motion and there are some people we just can’t get away from or do without…. In these cases patience is strongly advised. Our last Solar Eclipse was on April 29 2014.

SGC Admin: In our local paper, there is a section called “Kristen’s Kritters” which focuses on pets…Kristen writes about common issues with pets, offer’s advice and gets the word out about pets that need a good and loving home..

In the August 20 2014 edition, Kristen writes about senior pets… As she notes in her article most of us go gaga over kittens and puppies, really babies of any kind… It’s the natural way of nature I guess, and most of us, if we are going to adopt a pet we go for the young energetic ones… 

While this is fabulous news for the young who have been abandoned, it isn’t always so fabulous for the senior pets that for whatever reason find themselves in an animal shelter… :( Where they are usually the first ones to find themselves going through the pearly gates to doggie heaven…. 

Kristen points out there are positive reasons to adopt a senior pet, they are already house trained and because they are older they aren’t as easily distracted as the young, perhaps making it easier to train with your home rules.  :) 

Roxy is looking for a new forever home… 

Presently a senior lady by the name of Roxy is awaiting a new, loving home.. She is about 13 years old, is spayed and a mix of Blue tick(?)/German short-haired pointer. Roxy has been at the Oshawa Animal Services since July 5 2014 and her time may be running out… if you would like to visit with Roxy or to find out more about her, please call 905-436-3311.
