SGC Admin: Some folks close to our heart have asked us to share the following.
Cancer is a scary word these days … and despite the fact that many people are changing their lifestyles, (giving up smoking, changing diet, exercise etc.) this darn disease still runs rampant. Cancer does not care if you are male, female, young, old, black, white, red, rich or poor… it does not discriminate…..
More and more people are becoming affected by this horrifying, ugly disease, be it themselves who are directly affected or loved ones and friends….
One such person fighting cancer right now is Lisa Shamai, a Toronto caterer who has used her talents and business to cook for others in the past who have battled Cancer… Now the Cancer has taken a hold of Lisa…

One form of fighting Cancer is through stem cells research and for Lisa right now this seems to be the only option… but she needs help in finding the right “fit” … this means people she has never met need to come forward and donate to see if they are a stem cell match….
From what I can gather the procedure to find a match is pretty simple and involves a cheek swap…
In an effort to find a match a “donor package” is mailed out to perspective donor’s …. and all one needs to is follow the directions and mail the package back.
I am not 100% sure but I think even if you aren’t a match for Lisa the information may remain on file in case you are a match for someone else. (please verify this for yourself)
Donor’s need to be between 17 and 35 years of age and the donor needs to be found now…
