The Moon and Astrology: How it affects our daily life… Transiting Moon in Cancer… February 2015:

The Moon and Astrology

&

HOW IT AFFECTS OUR DAILY LIVES…

In astrology, the moon is connected to our emotions and reactions… how we are feeling on a given day may well be influenced by the sign that is visiting the moon… Each sign stays with the moon for up to 2.5 days…. :)

The Moon Void-off-Course:

There are times throughout the month when the moon isn’t fully immersed in any sign… this is when we say the moon is Void off Course… and when this occurs, we may feel “foggy” and “unfocused” … We may not be sure how we are truly feeling about a situation or a person…. Therefore it is not recommended that we make long-term commitments or important decision’s while the moon is Void off Course…. However there are 4 signs in the zodiac which may prove positive during the Void-off-Course moon…

Good for Void-Off-Course Moon:

These v/c signs may prove to be quite productive times.

  • Cancer
  • Taurus
  • Sagittarius
  • Pisces…

Opportunity Periods  (thanks to astrologer Jim Shawvan):

There are other periods throughout the month that are known as opportunity periods, when it can prove to be a positive time for most people, however if you have challenging aspects happening within your own chart you may not be able to make use of opportunity periods.

Thanks to Jim Shawvan present day astrologer, William Lilly 17th century astrologer and Llewellyn’s Daily Planetary Guide for opportunity periods.

What does it all mean?

  • The moon is happy in the sign of Cancer because she rules here. Being sympathetic towards the worries of others is easier, we are more empathetic now.
  • We can be more nurturing when there is a cancer moon
  • Domestic chores and responsibilities may be easier to do now, in fact some of us may be very happy making our home comfortable and safe
  • Cooking may be fun to do now,  so go ahead and try out that new recipe
  • The more emotionally sensitive of us, may take offense or feel slighted or more vulnerable during the Cancer moon… Caution is advised though, check your facts before you “accuse”.
  • Some of us may feel needy, while others of us are happy to be the cuddler, helping our loved ones feel secure and in deed needed. Caution is advised that some of us can go over board on the needy thing during this moon period, so be careful if you don’t want to “scare” someone off…
  • It’s a time for cuddles, caring, good food and just plain old lovings… :) Enjoy..
  • In the 9th house: Travel sounds good now and so does picking up a new study subject. Don’t get carried away though, if you can afford the travel go for it, if not you can always check out a cool video or do some reasearch into your next travel spot. Concentration skills could be working well especially if we are learning about something we like.
  • In the 10th house: Focus on the career and getting ahead may be the making or breaking or our emotional selves now. Take care to be disciplined and you could go far in the work place. Accomplishments can happen in your working world now, but take care not to bring your work home… or else run the risk of creating unwanted stress in your domestic situation which in turn will add stress to your working world.

  • Moon in Cancer:
  • Ascendant in Cancer:
  • Sun in Cancer:
  • Moon in the 4th, 9th or 10th house:

What does it all mean?

  • Gemini is an air sign and needs lots of stimuli. She is ruled by Mercury.
  • We may find we are trying to do multiple things at once, which may not go exactly as we may have planned.

What does it mean?

  • Mars is the male planet, he is action and can be aggressive, he can be rash and selfish, but also work in heroic ways to help us move forward, speak up for ourselves and others and pushes us to experience new frontiers. He is the ruler of Aries and corresponds to the head, the blood and the muscles.
  • Aries is the first zodiac sign, and he can be like a child in his rush to explore.. he can be a warrior ready to fight for those who cannot… or he can be selfish and out for himself…he can be a hero or he can hurt by being insensitive to the needs of others. Aries is ruled by Mars
  • Transiting Mars is comfortable in Aries, as this is the sign he rules. It can also mean he can be more assertive than he should.
  • Our energy level can be better when Mars is visiting here, so get those jobs done.
  • We could feel excited about new projects or new horizons, but hold your horses before committing yourself, it might feel great now, but may not be what we want next week.
  • Be careful the projects you start now, if you don’t want them finished in a hurry then go ahead, finishing up isn’t as fun as starting for Aries/Mars.
  • Watch out for open cupboards, and accidents to the head.
  • Don’t drive to fast, and watch for the tendency to get into accident prone situations.
  • Some of us may experience more headaches than usual
  • In the 6th house: Our health and physical well-being could be in focus now, and we should have the energy we need to do the research and even start a new physical exercise routine, so go ahead and play.
  • This astrological “event” will affect everyone, but will have more of an effect on the following.
    • Sun in Mars:
    • Aspects to Neptune and Mars:
    • Mars in the 6th house.
    • Mars in Aries
    • Aspects to natal Mars/natal 6th house.

Astrology Notes…. Today’s Post: The Sun:

Many of us are intrigued by Astrology, we like to check our daily horoscopes in the newspaper, and some of us may be more interested than others about our Sun signs.

Astrology is a fascinating subject and it blows my mind each time I learn something new…. I have no explanation as to how the ancients figured out all the “stuff” that makes astrology what it is… but I am very grateful that they even considered checking it out….

Each person is unique, and while each zodiac sign retains some basic traits that reside in each person, no two people are the exact same, even twins will have difference’s. Regarding Twins (or multiple births) it is believed that each one takes what they need from the zodiac sign they are born under, even those who seem to be identical will still have slight differences somewhere. I have no idea why this happens, but it’s the only explanation that makes sense to me at the moment… :)

Each sign contains many traits, some of us use more than others and some are drawn to the negatives and some are drawn to more of the positives….

Each of us when we are born “pick up” or connect to 10 planets within our system, not just the Sun…. and each planet has an influence on us as follows:

The Sun = Core

The Moon= Emotions

Mercury= Communications

Mars= Aggressive/action/motivation/energy

Venus=Feminine, money, beauty,

Jupiter=Expansion/learning/fun

Saturn=Restriction/rules/duty

Uranus=Change/Shock

Neptune=Imagination/Fantasy/Sensitivity

Pluto=Death/Intuitions/Regeneration

In a Natal Chart, each planet listed above will have a zodiac sign “in it” and it will depend on the sign as to how well (or not) the planet and sign work with each other.

So you see it’s not just our Sun Sign that makes us who we are it’s all of our signs.. these add up and make us who we are…. But the environment we are brought up in and the experiences we encounter as children also play a vital role in who we become. It is therefore important to understand the Natal Chart of your child so you may consider all aspects of your child’s personality when making choices for them.

Please enjoy our Astrology Notes section … We begin with a brief “note” about the Sun.

Please feel free to comment and ask questions on any of our posts… :)

The Sun:

The sun is masculine and is one of the main players in our Natal Charts. As with all life on the planet Earth, the sun is also the core of our being… However he isn’t the one who portrays who we are as children, that’s the moon’s task. The sun comes into play more as we move towards adulthood, and may be some of the reason why rebellion is so “rampant” when we are teenagers…

Up until the time we move into adolescence, we react and learn and live with our emotions. We learn and watch and experience many things through our childhood but it’s our emotions that dictate to us whether or not we like, reject or absorb. When the teenage years hit, we connect more with our core being or at least we try to … we want to be independent, we want to “show” the adults that we truly can be one of them, (although we might not recognize that’s what we want at the time). It is during this time that we begin to think about the person we want to become, how we want others to view us. Ego also plays a part and can be helpful if managed correctly, by “pushing” us towards things, places and people we may normally shy away from.

By understanding our Sun sign traits we can help ourselves move towards the correct career path, we can help ourselves grow into the best that we can be and we learn how to avoid the negative Sun traits that may inhibit our positive growth.
