SGC Admin Update June 27 2013: Folks just wanted to say this event was another huge success this year, despite the rain, … Just read an article in the local paper and it seems there are a number of folk out there who have distinct Metis blood lines, and they are eager to connect with like minded folk. Not to mention they are very happy to share their knowledge with those of us who don’t have the Metis blood line… So it’s a happy event for everyone… Check back next June to find out the date of 2014’s summer Metis celebration… Thanks to all who attended, you surely made the weekend for the vendors and organizers… :) 

SGC Admin: The Metis have a rich history and culture…. and are happy to share it with all Durham Residents this weekend…. :)

Where: Memorial Park Oshawa at the corner of John and Simcoe Streets

Time: June 22 from 10 am to 8 pm and on June 23 from 10 am to 4 pm

What’s There: Traditional Metis fiddle music: Arts and Crafts: Dancers: Drum Circle: Tepees: and a hand made birch bark canoe… :)
