SGC Admin Update June 27 2013: Folks just wanted to say this event was another huge success this year, despite the rain, … Just read an article in the local paper and it seems there are a number of folk out there who have distinct Metis blood lines, and they are eager to connect with like minded folk. Not to mention they are very happy to share their knowledge with those of us who don’t have the Metis blood line… So it’s a happy event for everyone… Check back next June to find out the date of 2014’s summer Metis celebration… Thanks to all who attended, you surely made the weekend for the vendors and organizers… :)

Gemini is one of the dual signs of the zodiac, multi faceted, multi task orientated, and sometimes close friends and relatives would say multi person…. :)
Gemini is an air sign, ruled by the planet of communication Mercury, it’s easy to understand why some Gemini’s either have the gift of the gab or are at the very least chatty.
It’s not unusual to find a Gemini doing more than one thing at once, having two-part time jobs or signing up for all kinds of things.. The reason is because they have to keep busy, oh, don’t get me wrong they do have their lazy days, but for the most part they need to have plans, be making plans or doing something….
And while their airy nature allows them to be easy-going and flexible for most of the time, don’t be surprised when they tell you no, when they don’t want to do something they won’t it’s that simple. :)

November 5: Guy Fawkes Day: United Kingdom
Guy Fawkes tried to blow up the Houses of Parliament in the United Kingdom but got caught… This day celebrates that. “Remember, Remember, the 5th of November, gun powder, treason and plot, I see no reason, why this season should ever be forgot” . As a child my siblings and I would make a “guy” (an effigy) and sit outside of our shop, asking people “Penny for the guy” as they went by… Mum and Dad would get fireworks with the money for the big night.

November 11: Remembrance Day:
A time to pause, think and be grateful. If it were not for the men and women who fought and lost their lives in the 1st and 2nd world wars, we would not have the lifestyle and freedoms we have today. Since those two world wars, men and women have gone into serving their Country by choice to prevent the atrocities of war from wrecking what others fought and died for. Some of us are “made” to be soldiers, while many of us aren’t… We must therefore never, ever forget the sacrifices made in the past, and those that continue today. Perhaps, one day we will no longer need to fight so hard to keep the peace… Perhaps, one day all people everywhere will be free from tyranny (especially women) and each will be treated equally, living in a world of peace and gratitude.

Whitby Residents: You should receive a little bag (orange I think) at your door. Place your used household batteries in it and put out for your regular garbage pick up day. For more information please visit www.whitby.ca. I checked the town’s website and I couldn’t find any mention of this special pick up on it… I am hoping they are still doing it… I guess if you don’t receive a bag you can’t put anything out…
