Come and discover the “Diva” in you and create a beautiful scarf for yourself or a loved one for the winter. These scarves are made out of all different fabrics – wool, ribbon, buttons, recycled earrings(1 of) and whatever can be attached that would not be too heavy. Bring what you might want to add, of the above mentioned items, that you might want to incorporate into your own scarf. . I will be bringing extra supplies so don’t worry if you don’t have enough “stuff” at home. (Please bring an extra $5.00 – however please don’t let this limit you to making one.) These scarves are about 5 feet long because they have to wrap around your neck. The possibilities to create are endless!

Full Moon November 28 2012:

Our lady sits in the sign of Taurus until November 27 at approx. 7:58 pm when she will move into the sign of Gemini.

She then goes void of course from 8:04 pm November 28 until she settles into the sign of Cancer on November 30.

Our lady becomes full at approx. 9:46 am on November 28 2012 while still in the sign of  Gemini.

While our moon becomes full in the sign of Gemini she goes off course shortly after.  It’s likely you will feel the effects of  the Gemini Moon but you may also feel unsure where your emotions are concerned or find it difficult to make decisions while she if Void of Course. It’s not advisable to make decisions during a void of course moon, yet routine tasks are likely to run smoothly… it’s a good time to reflect on your progress (or lack of) since the last Full Moon…

There is also a Lunar Eclipse on November 28: This may indicate the effects of the full moon will be stronger .. as always with the Full Moon be on the look out for the “lunatics” :)

Moon in Gemini:

A fun and fickle moon, these next few days may find you feeling the need to write, email and communicate with others. Multi tasking is also likely, but watch that you don’t become too scatter brained as you attempt to do more than usual. If you can take some time off for a short trip it’s a great time to do so… Watch the purse strings, if you are shopping you are likely to enjoy buying more than one of the same thing…

While the Full Moon affects all of us on some level those who have one or more of the following will likely feel November’s full moon the most.

Sun in Gemini: Moon in Gemini: Mercury in Gemini.

The Sewing Room with Sheila Grant: Bed Shirt to go with P.J. Bottom’s:

Lesson 2: A top to go with the p.j. bottom’s in Lesson 1: Click Here to see the p.j. bottoms

In Sheila’s last segment she showed us how to make a pair of p.j. pants… In this segment Sheila shows us how to make a top to go with the p.j. pants using an old shirt as her template. :)

I am going to make a bedshirt for my plaid pj pants by “knocking-off” an old t-shirt. Place shirt on fabric aligned with grain. Adjust your measurements accordingly

Measure shoulder length according to your measurements (most people are 5″ but larger people are 5.5″) otherwise, it will droop off shoulder.
Notch centre front neckline.
I have created a depth of 6″ off the centre front notch with chalkline.
Then chalked a line from shoulder-neck point to 6″ depth line on both sides to create a “V” neck.
Trim out excess material for “V” neck.
But now I have decided that I want a rounded neckline so will introduce the French Curve Ruler designed to work with the female curves in dressmaking.
Simply align French Curve to the shoulder-neck point “A” and 6″ depth point “B” and find a pleasing curve on the ruler for your design and chalk the curve line in on one side only.
Fold bedshirt in half and trim out neckline accordingly. This procedure will ensure symmetry.
Now your front panel has a rounded neckline with a 6″ depth.
Pin front and back shoulders together on wrong side of fabric.
Machine stitch using 5/8″ seam allowance.
Serging seam closed.
All raw edges have been serged. Sometimes people just want a top with a rolled edge and that is what causes those wavy lines which is nice in delicate material (summer wear for example). Just look at the instruction manual for your serger to direct you on how to perform a rolled edge and follow accordingly.
One inch hem allowance pinned into place.
Stitch hemline in.
Now simply turn neckline and armholes under at one-quarter inch and take it to the machine for stitching.
1/4″ turn.
Comfortable basic bed-shirt in stretch knit (you could embellish any way you want).
