Sound is like a sonic frequency that is carried to every part of the body.

In this workshop, experience the many benefits for body, mind and spirit, sacred sounds offers.

It energizes, boosts the immune system, tunes the nervous system, reduces stress, and heightens consciousness. We open the heart with a mediation and then a participant sits or lies in the centre of the circle. Those in the outer circle, use a variety of musical and rhythm instruments to create a unique musical sound healing experience for each individual. No Prior training is necessary  just an open heart.

If you have an instrument please feel free to bring it along and if not there are many available to borrow. Bring mats, blankets and pillows for comfort.

“Sheba’s Fix”

This new program, offers financial support to local rescue organizations through the reimbursement cost of the Spay/Neuter procedure for dogs and cats.

The goal is to assist the region in the population control of dogs and cats.

Spay Neuter Durham is working towards the ultimate goal of establishing a “high volume, high quality and accessible”  clinic in Durham. However, while waiting to achieve their goal the organizers of Spay/Neuter have decided to do what they can now, by offering the Sheba’s Fix Program.

Spay Neuter Durham is passionate about keeping our cats and dogs safe by keeping the population in control. The best way to do this, is to have them  spayed/neutered, the alternative is euthanasia.

In the coming months, Sheba’s Fix will be offering assistance to qualified local residents. Those who qualify will be reimbursed the cost of the spay or neuter procedure.

Sheba’s Fix is offering the following information events:

April 20 2013 and April 21 2013 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm both days at the following locations:

Pet Valu, Brooklin: 5949 Baldwin St. S. unit 12, Brooklin

It’s spring, which means many of us are planning our upcoming gardens. The garden can be one of the most magical places in your life. Today we’ll be talking about how to plan, create, and grow your magical garden, as well as ways to create speciality gardens, herb plots, and more!

Garden Folklore and Magic

In the early spring, many of us who follow earth-based spiritual paths begin planning our gardens for the coming season. The very act of planting, of beginning new life from seed, is a ritual and a magical act in itself. To cultivate something in the black soil, see it sprout and then bloom, is to watch a magical working unfold before our very eyes. The plant cycle is intrinsically tied to so many earth-based belief systems that it should come as no surprise that the magic of the garden is one well worth looking into. Let’s look at some of the folklore and traditions that surround gardening and planting magic. Read Full Article

Plant a Goddess Garden

Gardening is a magical act. It allows us to take the simplest form of life — a seed — and plant it so that weeks later it will bloom. Plants and magic have been associated for hundreds (if not thousands) of years, so when spring rolls around and you’re planning your seasonal garden, why not set up a special area to dedicate to the goddess of your tradition?
