Toronto Animal Services in need of foster parents: Lots available for adoption

SGC Admin: Who doesn’t love a little kitten, they are just so darn cute… unfortunately there are many kittens and cats and other pets who get “put down” because there just isn’t anywhere for them to be…

But we can help by offering up space in our homes and providing a loving and safe area for animals who need extra care or who need to put on weight before being put on the adoption list…

The time commitment doesn’t have to be for too long, and besides the kitty litter (and accompanying scent) the experience is fun and rewarding.

All litter, food and medications (if needed) are supplied to you, the foster parent by The Toronto Animal Services.

I would like to invite you to an afternoon of
“Inspiring Creativity”

…an afternoon of gathering and using a combination of words, quotes, sayings in order to create a piece of healing art.

We will use different mediums so that we may explore the many variations and outcomes unique to each one of us.

There will also be sweets and tea/coffee to be enjoyed.

July 8 2013 New Moon in Cancer in the 4th quarter.

She will be void off course from 7:44 pm July 8 2013 until 6:48 am July 9; where she will visit with the sign Leo in the 1st quarter.

The New Moon is about beginnings and starts … it’s the time to look forward and put new ideas and projects into motion. 

New moon in Cancer: Time to tend to the domestic front. The moon rules the sign of Cancer and she is all about home and hearth here. A time to nurture and take care of our loved ones, cook and bbq and tidy the home front…

But be aware of becoming too emotional or of making mountains out of mole hills. Those who are the more sensitive of the zodiac, like Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces might get their feelings hurt if they allow emotions free run.

And those of the Zodiac who are less in tune with the emotions of themselves or others,  may need to watch their p’s and q’s for at least one day… :) 

Cancer is Ruled by the Moon making the connection strong and will influence all water signs… Cancer, Pisces and Scorpio.

Those who have their Sun, Moon or Ascendant signs in Cancer or any of the water signs will be the most effected by this new moon…. 

New moon in the 4th quarter. A good time to “draw back” to reflect on past events and what has been (or has not been) accomplished. Time to clear the slate and plan for the New Moon stage. 

New Moon in the 1st quarter: Our lady becomes visible 5.5 to 12 hours after ‘her birth” she is delicate but strong, eager to start anew almost with the innocence of a babe she wants to begin again and explore all that she can. This is the absolute best time to begin your new projects, especially any projects or ideas that relate to the home and family. Family is anyone you wish to include which for some may be college’s friends, neighbours and co-workers. 

When the moon is void off course we can be unsure as to how we are really feeling about something or someone, it’s therefore advisable to stick to routine tasks at this time. If any legal documents or long-term commitments are in the picture take care to make sure you understand everything that is involved before signing… Delaying important decisions and commitments is highly recommended when the moon is void off course… 

A solar eclipse can have an influence on us making things, plans, issues and or situations that happen during an eclipse last longer than usual. Sometime’s it’s unavoidable and plans have to be made, ideas need to be put into motion and there are some people we just can’t get away from or do without…. In these cases patience is strongly advised. Our last Solar Eclipse was on May 9 2013. 

For those who have oppositions or square aspects to the moon, these may prove to be challenging times, if this is the case you are advised not to force issues at this time.  For those who have trines or sextiles, these may prove to be opportune times.

Changes to The Magical Blend… :( Physical Store Front Closed: Online store to remain in operation

SGC Admin: This is very sad news for us and hits close to home.. Although our physical Store Serenity was up and running just under 3 years we can still relate to how hard the decision was for the folks at the Magical Blend who have been serving clients in Montreal for over 20 years. 

Please view the following information from the folks at TMB … thank goodness their on-line store is and will remain in operation… We wish them the best and send healing, loving thoughts as they traverse through this change…

It’s not our favourite announcement, but it does need to be made: The Magical Blend has closed its storefront, and will no longer be open for public browsing or workshops. The Magical Blend’s physical location on Sainte-Catherine has served the community for over twenty years; it’s had a lot of good memories for a lot of us, and moving on is going to be hard.

It is important to note, however, that the online store will be staying open. And we have plans for it.

  • The Magical Blend Online will, over time, be narrowing its focus to handmade, hard-to-get, or one-of-a-kind supplies. Our usual recipes of bath salts, oils, resins, and other basic pagan supplies will STILL be available– but they will eventually be joined by local artisan-made tools and recipes. If you’ve always preferred your supplies lovingly-crafted instead of mass-produced, we are on the path to becoming the site for you.
     
  • The Magical Blend’s Book of Secrets: Volume One has finally been added to our site for pre-order! Its author, T. Scarlet Jory, owned The Magical Blend for a number of years, and has written up a volume containing a number of its practices and recipes, collected over the last twenty years.
     
  • The Magical Blend’s Weekly Spellcast is a brand new weekly podcast, available forfree download to anyone who has an account on our website. Keep up with us and give your comments about various subjects on our Facebook or Twitter pages.
     
  • Workshop Podcasts will soon become available for purchase online! Many of our most popular classes will be recorded and packaged with relevant class materials for download. Keep an eye on the podcasts category of the site for more details!
