Reuse Day (pass it on) March 16 2013 Whitby

This Saturday March 16 2013 bring your reusable items to the following location to be reused by charities. Please bring only those items that are in good enough shape to be reused safely. Thank you. :)

  • Waste Management Center: 4600 Garrard Road, Whitby
  • From: 9 am to 1 pm: 

Acceptable reusable donation items include: 

  • Lumber (clean, no nails and over 4ft lengths)
  • Roofing material (new only)
  • Windows and doors (no slab hollow core doors)
  • Tools and hardware
  • Lighting fixtures
  • Metal or wooden furniture (no fabric Chesterfield’s unless new)
  • Carpets (area rugs in like new condition; no carpet remnants)
  • Counters and sinks
  • Plumbing supplies
  • All clothing and textiles
  • Books and magazines
  • CD’s, DVD’s, video games, records
  • Toys and Games
  • Sporting Equipment
  • Window coverings (no used vertical or horizontal blinds)
  • Housewares and accessories
  • Gardening equipment
  • Working appliances

**Please note**

Only good quality items deemed suitable for reuse by charities will be accepted.

Material not accepted by charities must be removed by resident.**

Items may be disposed of at the Region’s waste management facilities. (Fee’s apply)

Garbage, household hazardous waste, or unwanted electronics ARE NOT  ACCEPTED AT THIS EVENT.

Illegal dumping of waste is subject to fines under the Region’s Waste Management By-law.

Saturday March 16th @ 10am –  Spiritual Adventure Series with Andrea Thiel Connell. Join us as we explore our reality and our place in it in order to become more balanced, graceful and peaceful as we experience our lives.  In 2013 we will focus on becoming better healers. We will explore various dimensions of energy healing and how to work with various tools and philosophies. Please Email Andrea directly to register.
 
Monday March 18th @ 7pm – Guided Meditation with Julie Ditta of Whole Soul.  Relax your body, open your heart and activate your imagination as you go on a personal and enlightening journey. Combined with special breathing techniques, guided meditation is an effective way to restore a sense of peace and well-being, for reducing stress and anxiety and for improving sleep. Tuesday March 19th @ 6pm – Yoga 101 Workshop with Andrea Ellsworth of Your Urban Yogi.  Come for an interactive workshop where you can learn the names +  correct alignment of basic yoga poses and strengthen your practice  from the ground up.  It’s a great way to introduce yourself to yoga in a welcoming, slow  paced and small class environment with the one on one teacher  assistance you can’t find in a busy yoga studio. If you’ve always wanted to try yoga but didn’t feel comfortable trying the unknown or you simply want to take the time to breakdown the poses and improve your alignment this is a perfect workshop for you to learn the basics.  REGISTER HERE

 
*NEW* Wednesdays starting March 20th @ 6:30pm – Infinite Possibilities Workshop Series with Rachel Hanley.   This 4 week series based on the book “The Art of Living Your Dreams” by Mike Dooley (also author of Notes from the Universe, Thoughts Become Things and featured in The Secret DVD) is a great way to start manifesting all that you desire in your life.  This series will repeat every 4 weeks – if you can’t make this one, the next one starts April 17th.  To register, EMAIL Rachel directly.  
 
 It is ideal for anyone interested in experiencing the powerful possibilities that a labyrinth offers for spiritually connecting to ones higher self, exercising ones inner guidance system and developing ones intuitive abilities. Tuesday March 26th @ 6pm –Hip Opener Yoga Workshop with Andrea Ellsworth of Your Urban Yogi. This workshop focuses on opening and relieving tension in the hips.   Many studies have shown that we carry a lot of stress in our hips, and some have even claimed “release your hips, release your emotions” as this area of the body tends to prove a connection that we store negative emotion in this area.  Join us in releasing your hips and letting go of so much needed stress.  REGISTER HERE
 
Thursday March 28th @ 7pm – Reiki Energy Exchange. This is open to anyone, we highly encourage Reiki students and Reiki Masters to gather together to share Reiki with anyone looking to learn more about and to experience Reiki.  There is NO CHARGE to attend this session, however, we are limited to 20 people so you must pre-register by noon the day before.  905-425-6357 or EMAIL us
