Astrology Notes: The Moon

Our 2nd post in our Astrology Notes Series is about the Moon.

In Astrology, the moon relates to our emotional self, and as such it is more prominent when we are children, more so then our Sun sign. This is because as children we react to things emotionally, babies cry when they are hungry, tired or have a dirty diaper.

As we grow, we are “directed” by our parents, our schools and our society how we should behave. As this happens our moon sign begins to take a back seat and by the time we reach adulthood we have grown accustomed to “hiding” away our true feelings.

When we become involved in a long term relationship, work along side someone for a long time, or become firm friends with someone, we begin once again to allow our true feelings to surface…. This can sometimes cause conflict or upset, as two people try to figure out their own emotional self, while trying to understand the emotional self of the other.

Our moon sign plays a very important part in our development and is a strong part of how we deal with life and what she has to offer both on a negative and positive level.

It is very important therefore, that our parents and caregivers have some understanding of our Moon nature. Working against our Moon sign while we are young can have devastating and long term effects on the person we become. While working with our Moon sign can help to build up our self-confidence and help us to be the best person we can be.  However, we must always be cautious not to encourage distruptive behaviour or to over inflate the Ego…

History has long observed the effects on the human race when the moon is full. It is handy, therefore to understand your moon sign as any effects the Full Moon emits will have a stronger effect on you when it falls in either your Sun Sign or Moon Sign.

This sounds good to me….:)

This is a meditation I found for bringing in the new feminine energies that are coming to us with the transit of Venus 2012. Please take the time and help to usher in these energies both for the planet and yourself.

Step 1) Relax your body by watching your breath for a few minutes. Take deep breaths from the belly and blow out like you are blowing out a candle.

Step 2) Visualize a pillar of electric blue light emanating from the Galactic Central Sun going into the top of your head and coming out of the bottom of your feet and anchoring into the earth. Keep this pillar of light active for a few minutes. Then visualize a beautiful goddess coming towards you and merging with your physical body. Stay present with this for a while.

Step 3) Visualize a bright new future for humanity where the masculine and…

Our Lovely Lady becomes full on June 4 2012 in the freedom loving sign of Sagittarius.

Sagittarius is optimistic and has a marvelous ability to let go of things in order to move ahead. With the Moon here it can be a great time to take in something new, check out that workshop or seminar you have been thinking about… Laugh a lot, have fun, be spontaneous and spend lots of time outdoors…. Just watch out for the desire to over do things or become too loud or obnoxious… :)

Those who have their sun or moon sign in Sagittarius are likely to be most effected by this months Full Moon…..

The Full Moon a time of completion… a good time to let go or finish up projects….
