The Capricorn moon is organized and practical it’s all about business for the Caps…:)

Duty calls and it will be attended to, but don’t get too caught up in all the “chores” remember to relax a bit too. Looking at challenges in a pessimistic way will not help you to come up with the solutions that you seek.

If legal issues have to be dealt with now, especially those relating to business matters or family members your logic is ready to assist. Listen to advice given, ask questions and use logic (and compassion if it’s a family matter) to help you make the right decision.

Use this time to finish sorting the closet (or any organizing project) that was started during the new moon, put the finishing touches in place for plans already made, tidy up the files and get rid of useless paperwork.

Be aware of being too business like in your dealings with family, friends and loved ones, even in your place of business you may need to remind yourself you are dealing with people as well as numbers… :)

Whitby Updates Policy on Home-Based Buinesses

SGC Admin: A little while back there was an upset caused when a lady who was running her business out of her home was told by the town that she had to “cease and desist” her business right away :( Which she did, but which also left her with financial loss and possible customer loss..The by laws in place were out dated and as such did not factor in the changing job market.

We are happy to say that the Town of Whitby’s  policies  have now been updated, a process that apparently hasn’t been done since the 1960’s!

SGC folk truly wish  “Not Just the Cake Lady” well and (hopefully) if she decides to start-up her home based business once again we invite her to let us know so we can help spread the word.

  • A home based business is permitted in all zones that allow a dwelling unit
  • Instructional activity, such as academic tutoring, creative arts or fitness classes is limited to no more than three people at any one time.
  • Vehicle parking for any non-resident employee be located in the driveway or a tandem parking space.
  • No retail sales are permitted other than the sale of what is produced or repaired on site. Retails sales conducted by phone, internet or mail order are permitted provided that customers do not enter the property to inspect, purchase or take possession of any goods. 
  • Only one sign is permitted per dwelling unit and must be located on the wall or door; sign cannot exceed 11 by 17 inches and cannot be internally illuminated. 
  • No equipment or activities permitted that can create an adverse effect or become a nuisance in regard to noise, odour, fumes, flare, traffic or parking. 
  • That business licensing is not warranted or required for home-based businesses

Where: Durham Region Waste Management Centre: 4600 Garrard Rd. Whitby. 

Time: 9 am to 1 pm

Event: Residents are encouraged to bring forward “good quality” items which will be transferred for use by Habitat For Humanity ReStores, Canadian Diabetes Association, Goodwill and Salvation Army. Please Note: Hazardous waste, unwanted electronics, items that are overly worn, used or in disrepair will not be accepted. Your cooperation is appreciated… :) 

Reuse days take place once per month from now until October.

June 21 2013 The Sun moves into Cancer.

Cancer the Crab: Water: Feminine: Cardinal: Cancer folk are always trying to take care of everyone. ☺Nurturing is in their nature, in fact it’s so inherent in these guys and gals that if they don’t have a family close by they will create one from the folks they spend time with. 

Emotional Cancer folk usually operate on ‘gut feelings’ and while they enjoy the company of others around them, spending some time alone in private can do wonders for the energy levels. Like the phases of the moon that rule Cancer, there are times to be out in front and there are times to take a back seat to rejuvenate. 

The thing to watch for with being a Cancerian is not to get caught up in the “needy market”… Depending on others to make one feel “better” is not the best way to explore the finer, points of one’s nature. We all love to have someone around us who wants to take care of us, but most of us don’t want to be “mothered” all of the time. :)

Most “crabs” or those with a “crab” influence are great in the kitchen, as feeding others is another way to say “I love you”. For these folk whipping something up for supper is hardly ever a problem (unless mum is feeling a little “crabby”). 

Cancer rules the breasts and stomach. Issue’s with the tummy are likely when under stress, during a full moon or when ignoring healthy eating habits. 

Sensitive by nature Cancer folk, may at times, imagine slights from others and become defensive or withdrawn (as a crab into its shell) in an effort to block any hurt. This is something that should be watched for especially during emotionally vulnerable times (menstruation/ovulation/work or family stress/full moon), actions taken or words spoken during this time may cause more upset than intended or needed. 

June 21 2013 is also the 1st day of summer for 2013 and will be the longest day of the year and the shortest night for our hemisphere. A positive time where being outside is the norm along with spending time with loved ones and friends. Summer is a celebration of all things light and who couldn’t use some light after the dark days of winter… :) 

As we welcome summer 2013 we give thanks to Mother Earth and all that she provides us with…

June 8 2013 New Moon in Gemini in the 4th quarter.

She will be void off course from 4:29 am June 9 2013 until 12:16 pm; where she will visit with the sign Cancer in the 1st quarter. She will go void off course again at 5:15 pm June 10 2013 until she enters Leo still in the 1st quarter on June 12 2013 at 12:58 am.

The New Moon is about beginnings and starts … it’s the time to look forward and put new ideas and projects into motion. 

The Moon in Gemini is a fun and fickle moon, these next few days may have you feeling the need to write, email and communicate with others. Multi tasking is also likely, but watch that you don’t become too scatter brained as you attempt to do more than usual. Short trips to the city, or visits with old friends may be in order perhaps with a business idea in mind… Siblings may also be in focus. Watch the purse strings, if you are shopping you are likely to enjoy buying more than one of the same thing…

New moon in the 4th quarter. A good time to “draw back” to reflect on past events and what has been (or has not been) accomplished. Time to clear the slate and plan for the New Moon stage. 

New moon in Cancer: Time to tend to the domestic front. The moon rules the sign of Cancer and she is all about home and hearth here. A time to nurture and take care of our loved ones, cook and bbq and tidy the home front… But be aware of becoming too emotional or of making mountains out of mole hills. Those who are the more sensitive of the zodiac, like Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces might get their feelings hurt if they allow emotions free run. And those of the Zodiac who are less in tune with the emotions of themselves or others,  may need to watch their p’s and q’s for at least one day… :) 

New Moon in the 1st quarter: Our lady becomes visible 5.5 to 12 hours after ‘her birth” she is delicate but strong, eager to start anew almost with the innocence of a babe she wants to begin again and explore all that she can. This is the absolute best time to begin your new projects, especially any projects or ideas that relate to the home and family. Family is anyone you wish to include which for some may be college’s friends, neighbours and co-workers.
