SGC Admin:Attention Knitters and Crocheters….. we received the following in our inbox recently and wanted to help get the word out… please share with any knitters and crocheter’s you may know who enjoy making things for little ones… :) thanks… :)
PRODUCT RECALL: Bernat Tizzy
Dear Bernat Tizzy Consumer,
All knitted or crocheted garments or blankets can come unraveled or pulled apart if they are “snagged”. The potential for these snags can vary depending on the tension of the stitch or the construction of the yarn.
We believe that the risk of snags with Tizzy may be higher than normal. In finished knit or crochet items, the yarn can unravel or snag and form a loop, posing an entanglement hazard to young children. Since this yarn is marketed towards babies we have decided to voluntarily recall this product from the marketplace and discontinue its sale.
Since all yarn is prone to a certain level of risk in this regard, this was a very difficult decision. However, the safety of children is our first concern. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience that this Voluntary Recall may cause you.
In astrology, the moon is connected to our emotions and reactions… how we are feeling on a given day may well be influenced by the sign that is visiting the moon… Each sign stays with the moon for up to 2.5 days…. :)
The Moon Void-off-Course:
There are times throughout the month when the moon isn’t fully immersed in any sign… this is when we say the moon is Void off Course… and when this occurs, we may feel “foggy” and “unfocused” … We may not be sure how we are truly feeling about a situation or a person…. Therefore it is not recommended that we make long-term commitments or important decision’s while the moon is Void off Course…. However there are 4 signs in the zodiac which may prove positive during the Void-off-Course moon…
Good for Void-Off-Course Moon:
These v/c signs may prove to be quite productive times.
Cancer
Taurus
Sagittarius
Pisces…
Opportunity Periods (thanks to astrologer Jim Shawvan):

What does it all mean?
Gemini is an air sign and needs lots of stimuli. She is ruled by Mercury.
We may find we are trying to do multiple things at once, which may not go exactly as we may have planned.
Could be lots of chit chatting going on, and some of us may have to make a concerted effort to listen instead of chat.
Caution is advised when doing up letters, emails and relaying messages, as much as we may think we have it right, it’s better to check one more time
In the 8th house: Watch out for possessive or jealous feelings when dealing with personal relationships. Our emotions can be more intense now indicating we may feel that more is going on than is really going on. Use any excess energy for sorting through items you no longer need, set up your donation pile and your garbage pile and set to it… :)
In the 9th house: This can be a good time to finish up a study session, or to begin a new one. We want to expand our minds now, so go ahead, but take care not to carried away. Travel may beckon us, go if you can, if not check out a fabulous travel show on t.v. Routines may get a shake up, those of us who need a routine to stay focused could be feeling emotionally out of sorts for the next couple of days.
It’s a good time to get those lists and notes made up… we can feel good about putting pen to paper now.
Boredom may be at our door step and we may feel more restless than usual.
This moon sign will have more of an effect on those who have the following in their charts. And those who have strong Scorpio or Sagittarius placings in their charts.

Void-off-Course: March 23 2015 @ 10:25 am (ET) 7:25 am (PT) to March 24 2015 @ 9:23 am (ET) 6:23 am (PT): Moon in Taurus v/c is one of the 4 “good signs”
House(s): 7th & 8th: … 7th house of relationships: 8th house of shared money matters, official financial dealings and desires.
Opportunity Period: March 23 @ 4:17 am (ET) 1:17 am (PT) to March 24 @ 9:23 am (ET) 6:23 am (PT). A slow and sensual mood is about… however, we can still get a lot accomplished now.. :)
What does it all mean?
Taurus needs emotional and material security, so we may find we are more interested in our financial affairs.
This may prove to be a good time to make investments for the future or to begin plans for the next financially responsible phase.
Taurus has lots of patience, indicating this could be a good time to deal with people/projects/situations that take up more time than is liked.
Things that give us pleasure, such as comfort foods, wine, relaxing, good music and giving/receiving “loving’s” are all things we may enjoy right now
Some of us may be feeling more frugal than usual, preferring to save our funds instead of spend it.
Take your time when the moon is in this sign, there is no need to hurry, and you probably won’t get very far if you do… so sit back and enjoy the ride… :)
In the 7th house: Peace making is the name of the game. We can work with our partners now in a mutually beneficial way. Take care as to who we “hook up” with now, our desire is for harmony in our relationships both personal and business ones, and some of us may be willing to say “yes” to just about anything to make that happen. Venus is very comfy in the 7th house, she also rules Taurus indicating relationship issues may be more in focus for some of us then the rest. Taurus really enjoys comfort, and with Venus in the house of relationships all we may need is some cozy time with our loved one.
In the 8th house: Taxes, insurance and estate planning may be in the works, and some may benefit from an inheritance under this moon. Our emotions are intense now, but it’s best to hold them down if we can, as we may jump to conclusions or assume things we shouldn’t. We could also be prompted to share our deepest secrets, be sure you are sharing the right ones with the right people. This is a good time for folk who have been wanting to make positive changes, if you are feeling stronger on every level you are encouraged to go for the change.
Keep your temper under check if you can, Taurus is very, very patient and it takes a lot to make her angry, but watch out once she has had enough, she will certainly let you know..
This moon sign will have more of an effect on those who have the following in their charts. Those with strong Libra and Scorpio placements in their charts will also be effected.
SGC Admin: Recyclable and reusable items are collected within Durham Region monthly from March to October: Items collected are donated to Habitat for humanity, Canadian Diabetes Association, Goodwill and the Salvation Army.
You Aries folk are what get us all going… ready to explore and move mountains… well for a little while at least… Even though you guys and gals are full of vim and vigor you aren’t really the kind to stick around to the see the completion of your pioneering projects thanks to your lack of patience… You can get bored easily and the next interesting thing/person that comes along can perk up your ears encouraging you to find out more…..You are fun to be around and many may wish they were more like you, but you can have your awkward moments when you forget about the feelings of others as Aries puts your own needs first…. Having a partner that understands this is important, but you need to slow down enough so that he/she can explain to you when you have done “wrong” … You are the beginning of the Zodiac and as such you are like the child who needs a constant gentle reminder to slow down…
Happy Birthday to: T.J. Maureen, Dennis, Dean, Leah, Steven and all who celebrate an Aries Birthday… Have a fabulous day guys and an awesome year ahead… :)
Today is also International Astrology Day….. Have a blast Astrologers and all those who love the art…. :)
The word Ostara is just one of the names applied to the celebration of the spring equinox on March 21. The Venerable Bede said the origin of the word is actually from Eostre, a Germanic goddess of spring. Of course, it’s also the same time as the Christian Easter (Unless Easter falls in April as it does thisyear) celebration, and in the Jewish faith, Passover (This year begins atsundown April 14 2014) takes place as well. For early Pagans in the Germanic countries, this was a time to celebrate planting and the new crop season. Typically, the Celtic peoples did not celebrate Ostara as a holiday, although they were in tune with the changing of the seasons.
A New Day Begins:
A dynasty of Persian kings known as the Achaemenians celebrated the spring equinox with the festival of No Ruz — which means “new day.” It is a celebration of hope and renewal still observed today in many Persian countries, and has its roots in Zoroastrianism. In Iran, a festival called Chahar-Shanbeh Suri takes place right before No Ruz begins, and people purify their homes and leap over fires to welcome the 13-day celebration of No Ruz.
Mad as a March Hare:
Spring equinox is a time for fertility and sowing seeds, and so nature’s fertility goes a little crazy. In medieval societies in Europe, the March hare was viewed as a major fertility symbol — this is a species of rabbit that is nocturnal most of the year, but in March when mating season begins, there are bunnies everywhere all day long. The female of the species is super-fecund and can conceive a second litter while still pregnant with a first. As if that wasn’t enough, the males tend to get frustrated when rebuffed by their mates, and bounce around erratically when discouraged. (Perhaps this is where the symbol of the bunny comes from in our Easter celebrations… ) :)
