Ladies Night Out is an annual fund raising event hosted by Sheridan Nurseries. Proceeds are donated to the “Children’s Wish & Upopolis”. Christmas is in the air at the nurseries and you can also enjoy many other vendors offering their wares. I will be doing Palm Readings. Appetizers and refreshments will be served. November 5: Guy Fawkes Day: United Kingdom
Guy Fawkes tried to blow up the Houses of Parliament in the United Kingdom but got caught… This day celebrates that. “Remember, Remember, the 5th of November, gun powder, treason and plot, I see no reason, why this season should ever be forgot” . As a child my siblings and I would make a “guy” (an effigy) and sit outside of our shop, asking people “Penny for the guy” as they went by… Mum and Dad would get fireworks with the money for the big night.

November 9: Drum Circle @ The Tranquil Garden with Julie Ditta:
We (Julie Ditta and friends) start with a meditation and then let the drumming takeus on a creative, energizing, music-making journey that is never the same twice. You don’t have to know how to drum to be part of this circle. We embrace the natural flow of free form drumming. There’s no right or wrong. No pressure to perform. Just let go and drum! November 11: Remembrance Day:
A time to pause, think and be grateful. If it were not for the men and women who fought and lost their lives in the 1st and 2nd world wars, we would not have the lifestyle and freedoms we have today. Since those two world wars, men and women have gone into serving their Country by choice to prevent the atrocities of war from wrecking what others fought and died for. Some of us are “made” to be soldiers, while many of us aren’t… We must therefore never, ever forget the sacrifices made in the past, and those that continue today. Perhaps, one day we will no longer need to fight so hard to keep the peace… Perhaps, one day all people everywhere will be free from tyranny (especially women) and each will be treated equally, living in a world of peace and gratitude.

November 15: Curbside Battery Pick up in effect. ???
Whitby Residents: You should receive a little bag (orange I think) at your door. Place your used household batteries in it and put out for your regular garbage pick up day. For more information please visit www.whitby.ca. I checked the town’s website and I couldn’t find any mention of this special pick up on it… I am hoping they are still doing it… I guess if you don’t receive a bag you can’t put anything out…
November 16: 18 and 24: Fermentation 101
The long awaited and much anticipated: Fermentation 101 with KimberLee Schaumburg of Spirit Nutrition… 3 class time offerings: Friday Nov 16th 6-9pm Sunday Nov 18th 2-5pm and Saturday Nov 24th 10am-1pm: Wow, this one was hard to decide the recipes. Fermented ketchup, homemade mayo, sour dough bread, Amasake, miso, krauts, ginger beer, fermented pineapple and apricot juice, the list goes on. There are so many I’d like to share with you, but in an effort not to overwhelm you, I’ve kept it simple as possible, introducing you to the concepts of both wild and controlled fermentation. November 18: REIKI LEVEL 2 -Second Degree Reiki Attunement
$130 -includes HST, manual and framed certificate. Follow up practice session also available to students. This class is a continuation of Level 1 to Practitioner. In this class you will receive two new symbols, learn how to send distant healing, and practice how to work on others. Discussion and advice offered on how to become a Registered Practitioner is also available.
