Learning the Tarot Cards with Patti Wigington

SGC Admin: The tarot has long been a fascination for me.. over the years I have grown to respect my cards and honour the information gleaned from them. I cannot say how they work, ( I reckon it’s spirit) but they do and on many occasions they have assisted me through difficult times… :) Check out the following information on the use of Tarot Cards. Thanks for sharing Patti… :)

One of the most popular aspects of the About Pagan/Wiccan site is our information on Tarot. This form of divination is one that many modern Pagans use, and has been around for centuries. Anyone can learn to read Tarot cards, but it does take some practice. It’s a highly intuitive process, so while books and charts come in handy, the best way to actually learn what your cards mean is to handle them, hold them, and feel what they are telling you. Let’s get started by looking at some of the different ways people use Tarot.

Introduction To Tarot Cards

To people unfamiliar with divination, it may seem that someone who reads Tarot cards is “predicting the future.” However, most Tarot card readers will tell you that the cards offer a guideline, and the reader is simply interpreting the probable outcome based upon the forces presently at work. A Tarot deck consists of 78 cards. The first 22 cards are the Major Arcana. These cards have symbolic meanings focused on the material world, the intuitive mind, and the realm of change. The remaining 56 cards are the Minor Arcana, and are divided into four groups or suits, each of which focuses on a theme. Read Full Article

Tarot Cards and Their Meanings

The Tarot is a great tool for guidance and advice, as well as solving problems. Each of the cards has a meaning of its own, and as you learn the cards and get to know them better, you’ll become a more effective reader. Anyone can learn to read Tarot cards, but it does take some practice. It’s a highly intuitive process, so while books and charts come in handy, the best way to actually learn what your cards mean is to handle them, hold them, and feel what they are telling you. How to Prepare for a Tarot Card Reading

So you’ve got your Tarot deck, you’ve figured out how to keep it safe from negativity, and now you’re ready to read for someone else. Perhaps it’s a friend who’s heard about your interest in Tarot. Maybe it’s a coven sister in need of guidance. Perhaps — and this happens a lot — it’s a friend of a friend, who has a problem and would like to see “what the future holds.” Regardless, there are a few things you should do before you take on the responsibility of reading cards for another person. Read Full Article

Interpreting the Tarot Cards

Now that you’ve laid down your Tarot cards, in the spread of your choice, this is where the real fun begins. If someone has come to you as a Querent, it’s because they want to know what’s going on — what sorts of things will present obstacles to them, what positive outcomes they can expect, that sort of thing. But they also want it to be interesting. After all, anyone can flip open a book and read that the Ten of Cups means contentment and happiness. What they really want to know is how does it apply to them? Read Full Article

John Edward Newsletter and September Tour Dates: Coming to Toronto Sept 17 2013

SGC Admin: We would like to share the following newsletter recently received from John Edward…. Check out his Canadian tour dates below… Not sure if there are any seats left (or if anyone can afford them) ;) but if you are a fan and would like to see Mr. Edward in action there’s no harm in trying… :)

Please contact Mr. Edward’s peeps via the links provided in the body of the following newsletter… better yet sign up for the newsletter to be delivered each month directly to your inbox.. :)

Hi Greta, August is halfway over and I am staring at September.  A time that still, after all these years, I get a little bummed out by.  I suffer from the, “I have to go back to school soon” energy.  Even though it’s been a few years for me, I start to think about school work, assignments, reports, etc.

Some of you are probably excited that September is upon us, and will be singing along with the STAPLES commercial as your children or grandchildren will be going back to school and you get the house back.

This got me to thinking about the last time I taught a proper workshop on Psychic Development and energy.  I believe it has to be well over a decade ago.  I feel like with all my events and readings, I am teaching on that level.  Every Sunday, a new episode of my web-show, EVOLVE with JOHN EDWARD, débuts on JohnEdward.net – I teach there, as well as do readings.  If you are not watching, please check it out… I think ya might like it.

From time to time, I will ask you if you have an interest in various things. What this does is let me know where I can put my energy or how I can better advise you with your interests.  For example, a while back, I asked if people would be interested in being an Ambassador to The FIVE community on my site, and I also discussed the re-branding of the community as well.  THANK YOU ALL for your contributions to both. Regarding the Ambassador program, I have not figured out yet what that will entail, but will notify all of you that submitted interest.

A colleague of mine was discussing the outline of his workshop and his level of enthusiasm for what he is teaching in the fall… and I know that there is an interest in them, as two sold out quickly and he just added another.

I would like to know if you are interested in attending workshops on the subject matter.  Click here to signal your interest. As things are scheduled, I will let you know.

I DIDN’T SEE IT ON YOUR SITE

I do a lot of small group readings that are not put on my website.  The way I let people know they are happening is SOLELY from my interest list.  What is the interest list you ask?  It is the little boxes that you checked off when you subscribed to this newsletter.  If you checked off “small private groups,” you are notified of when they are scheduled. They are regularly scheduled all around the world…just not put under the ‘live events’ section on my website. They usually sell out very quickly and they would be up there for less than a day. If you want to be informed, please make sure you have checked that off for all alerts and updates.

Going back to the workshops theme, I have a special episode of EVOLVE w/John Edward coming up in the next few weeks, where Jonathan Louis is co-hosting the entire episode and we discuss the concepts of learning and teaching.  Be sure to watch as we will be giving away five tickets to attend his workshop, as well as our newsletter folks that express interest (no purchase is necessary – just your interest).

In closing, I want to say thank you for taking the time in reading this, and for all the folks that have come out and attended the events over the last few months. I have had such a blast. “PANDA” just sayin! Many are wondering what the hell that means, but many are laughing right now reading this. If you are not on my Facebook page, check it out –  scroll down to August 8thand read the posts for a chuckle. The responses on Facebook to the mistaken lyrics had me absolutely laughing out loud.

TWITTER

I am calling it Twittergate 2013.  Katrina is at it again. She got me into social networking via Facebook and Tout.  Now she wants me to tweet. My guides want me to ‘tweet’ as well – however, I am reluctant. Quite honestly, I am afraid that I will be the Alec Baldwin of mediumship on twitter, lol. I made a deal with Katrina: if Twitter verifies me and we get 100k people on Twitter to follow me I will tweet.  A VERY tall order, I know –  but “if” I am supposed to do it… than THAT is how it will happen. My twitter handle is @psychicmediumje

I also want to send out a special welcoming shout out to those of you who recently accepted my invitation for the newsletter, during my appearance on The View.  New readings and discussions like you saw on that show, happen here on EVOLVE every week! You can watch whenever you want to. Here’s a link for a sample……EVOLVE w/John Edward
See you in September!!
