Hi folks in order to try get myself more organized SGC will be posting a bit differently… 

… so instead of posting everything on its own creating numerous posts in one day, which can be annoying for some who get automatic updates and time-consuming for SGC staff…. We are going to try and do combined posts. :)

Golf Tournament Fundraiser to benefit Epilepsy Durham: 

Epilepsy Durham Region is hosting its Annual Fundraising Golf Tournament which will take place on June 21 2012: The tournament is named in the honour of former volunteer Mark F. Seetner. 

Where: Deer Creek Golf Course and Banquet Facility Ajax

Cost: $195:00 per golfer: Includes: Green Fee, Cart, Prizes and a Three Course Dinner and Lunch…. :)

2nd Post:

Notice from The Central Lake Conservation Authority. 

Durham Conversation Area’s are asking everyone to be conservation minded as they visit any of the conservation area’s in the region. 

Please DO NOT pick any plants, especially the Fiddleheads.

Enforcement staff have caught people with garbage bags full of this plant, which is popular in recipes. Those who take the Fiddleheads in such large amounts usually sell them to restaurants. 

Trilliums

which are Ontario’s official flower are also at risk… These lovely white flowers take 7 YEARS  :( to show their flowers… picking the bloom will leave the plant flowerless for another 7 seven years…  

Enforcement officials are asking people to PLEASE keep pets on a leash and to place ALL GARBAGE in the appropriate containers.
