Durham Be a Santa to a Senior 2013

SGC: Christmas is a wonderful time for most of us, but there are some people in our community who don’t have the luxury of family members close by or through no fault of their own are not in a position to celebrate this wonderful time…

There are many toy drives for children in need of gifts for Christmas day and SGC enjoys giving each year… but children aren’t the only ones who need a lift at this time of the year, some of our seniors can use some cheer too… after all, the reason for the season is giving, and in giving our intention is to lighten the heart of someone and help make their day special…

This year theBe a Santa to a Senior” 2013 program has begun, organized by Homes Instead Senior Care, in its 7th year it is so simple to do and brings such happiness… Just visit one of the co operating locations and pick a name off of the tree… (Seniors in the program are asked to put down what they would truly enjoy having for Christmas).

Next go shopping for your Senior and bring back the unwrapped gift to the location you got the name from, (oh bring the name too).. the folks at the location will look after everything else… and you can leave with that special christmassy feeling bubbling up inside of you… :)
