Our 2nd post in our Astrology Notes Series is about the Moon.

In Astrology, the moon relates to our emotional self, and as such it is more prominent when we are children, more so then our Sun sign. This is because as children we react to things emotionally, babies cry when they are hungry, tired or have a dirty diaper.

As we grow, we are “directed” by our parents, our schools and our society how we should behave. As this happens our moon sign begins to take a back seat and by the time we reach adulthood we have grown accustomed to “hiding” away our true feelings.

When we become involved in a long term relationship, work along side someone for a long time, or become firm friends with someone, we begin once again to allow our true feelings to surface…. This can sometimes cause conflict or upset, as two people try to figure out their own emotional self, while trying to understand the emotional self of the other.

Our moon sign plays a very important part in our development and is a strong part of how we deal with life and what she has to offer both on a negative and positive level.

It is very important therefore, that our parents and caregivers have some understanding of our Moon nature. Working against our Moon sign while we are young can have devastating and long term effects on the person we become. While working with our Moon sign can help to build up our self-confidence and help us to be the best person we can be.  However, we must always be cautious not to encourage distruptive behaviour or to over inflate the Ego…

History has long observed the effects on the human race when the moon is full. It is handy, therefore to understand your moon sign as any effects the Full Moon emits will have a stronger effect on you when it falls in either your Sun Sign or Moon Sign.
