What does it Mean?:

Jim Shawvan, astrologer, over a 30 year period, has developed the Opportunity Period’s system. He shares his findings in Llewellyn’s Daily Planetary Guide.

  •          An Opportunity Period (OP) is a period in which the aspects of the transiting Moon to other transiting planets show no interference with the free flow of decision and action. (Jim Shawvan)
  •        ” Opportunity Periods apply to everyone in the world all at once; although, if the astrological influences on your own chart are putting blocks in your path, you may not be able to use every OP to the fullest. Nevertheless, you are always better off taking important actions and making crucial decisions during an Opportunity Period.” (Jim Shawvan)

  • When an OP appears make the best of the time if possible.
  • Some OP times are very short and happen in the late hours of the night or early hours of the morning.
  • This OP is good for socializing, socializing over a good meal and fine drink.

The Moon and Astrology: How it affects our daily life… Moon in Aries… 10/07/2014 to 10/09/2014

The Moon and Astrology

&

HOW IT AFFECTS OUR DAILY LIVES…

In astrology, the moon is connected to our emotions and reactions… how we are feeling on a given day may well be influenced by the sign that is visiting the moon… Each sign stays with the moon for up to 2.5 days…. :)

The Moon Void-off-Course:

There are times throughout the month when the moon isn’t fully immersed in any sign… this is when we say the moon is Void off Course… and when this occurs, we may feel “foggy” and “unfocused” … We may not be sure how we are truly feeling about a situation or a person…. Therefore it is not recommended that we make long-term commitments or important decision’s while the moon is Void off Course…. However there are 4 signs in the zodiac which may prove positive during the Void-off-Course moon…

Good for Void-Off-Course Moon:

These v/c signs may prove to be quite productive times.

  • Cancer
  • Taurus
  • Sagittarius
  • Pisces…

Opportunity Periods  (thanks to astrologer Jim Shawvan):

There are other periods throughout the month that are known as opportunity periods, when it can prove to be a positive time for most people, however if you have challenging aspects happening within your own chart you may not be able to make use of opportunity periods.

Thanks to Jim Shawvan present day astrologer, William Lilly 17th century astrologer and Llewellyn’s Daily Planetary Guide for opportunity periods.

The  full moon happen’s on 8 October 2014.

As our Lady becomes full this month at 6:51 am (ET)/3:51 am (PT) at the tail end of Aries, she will also become void off course @ 10:20 am (ET)/7:20 am(PT) until she enters into Taurus on October 9 at 7:44 am (ET)/4:44 am(PT).

The Full Moon is the perfect time to finish up on projects and get those loose ends sorted out… Traditionally the Full Moon is not  the best time to begin new projects… so don’t start a new exercise regime this weekend, chances are you won’t stick with it, wait for the New Moon to pop up again… :)

The full moon will still carry with her the influence of an Aries moon, but it will be peppered with the influence of the Taurus moon.

The moon in Aries is bold, up for an adventure and not too happy to sit back and let things happen without putting in a word or two no matter who it might upset at the time. Boredom may take a hold regarding projects begun under the new moon and finishing them up now might not look like the most adventurous thing to be doing, but with some effort, encourage and support from others, it’s still possible to get them done. Watch out for starting arguments just to prove your point, or because you are feeling feistier then usual.

The moon in Taurus is sensual and secure at least that’s what she needs now. Its time to spend appreciating nature, listening to good music and eating good food. If change is required now, it’s not likely to go down too well, especially if its change brought about through something or someone beyond your control. Taking care of money issues may be in focus, or you could be unduly worried about a financial or residential situation. If changes do need to take place now against your will, it’s best to “grin and bear it” for the time being, resisting could cause added and unnecessary stress.

This Full Moon is likely to have a stronger effect on those with one or more of the following…

Aries Moon: Taurus Moon: Aries Sun: Taurus Sun: Moon in the 1st house: Moon in 2nd house: Moon in 11th house:

Aspects made to the moon will also have a stronger effect on some people. Negative aspects may produce challenging times, whereas positive aspects may produce windows of opportunity.

When the moon is void off course we can be unsure as to how we are really feeling about something or something, it’s therefore advisable to stick to routine tasks at this time. If any legal documents or long-term commitments are in the picture take care to make sure you understand everything that is involved before signing… Delaying important decisions and commitments is highly recommended when the moon is void off course…

Lunar Eclipse: October 8 2014:

Situations, relationship/partnership and issues begun on a Lunar Eclipse may proceed for a longer time or have a stronger influence. It is important then, that decisions made and relationship/partnerships entered into under a full moon lunar eclipse influence should be carefully considered before any commitment is made.
